The Limited DNA Reviews - What We Believe Are The Hard Facts On The Double DNA Knife

Posted by ViaDellaPergola

Repeat of my December post as the knife is again back in sharp focus.

The wild claims of the conspiracy theorists have morphed back and forth. But the facts remain that Italy has a fine DNA lab system and Dr Stefanoni is internationally respected - and she had no vested interest in a particular outcome.

Sollecito coolly explained that Meredith’s DNA SHOULD be on the blade of the knife because he pricked her while he was cooking a fish at his place. She had never ever been to his place - in fact, she had only set eyes on him once or twice, very briefly, and had certainly not eaten his fish.

But Sollecito STILL lets that highly incriminating statement stand - one that is enough to secure a conviction in an American court all by itself. Sollecito never retracted or explained it. Why not? Why not?

The truth, obviously, is worse. Very, very much worse.

Hi ViaDellaPergola,

“She had never ever been to his place - in fact, she had only set eyes on him once or twice, very briefly.”

I do believe that, devoutly, but need the source, so that I can quote it.

Hi Cardiol. We got that in interviews with several sources. I dont think anyone will dispute it because even Knox knew him for less than a week and she stayed at his place the whole time. He seems to have barely set eyes on Meredith.

Sollecito’s inexplicable (in terms of innocence) lie is something that the Knoxophiles just CANNOT explain. He did not tell this lie while under “oppressive interrogation” by the police, he wrote it in a letter to his family, and it was a complete, total and indefensible lie.

ViaDellaPergola notes at the end of her video,  “Amanda Knox was found guilty thus responsible for Meredith Kercher’s brutal, violent, sadistic and cruel murder”

Right from the start the Knox and Mellas clans, along with their pr campaign and the Friends of Amanda, have attempted to sanitize the killing of Meredith Kercher.

A prime time media show akin to an American cartoon where the Wile E. Coyote gets killed over and over again and yet nobody ever really dies.

Bring on the those turkey and Mexican dinners and don’t forget the salsa sauce because THIS is what really matters!

I have no doubt that this Italian appeals court jury in Perugia will not hesitate whatsoever in rendering a guilty verdict with aggravating circumstances to Amanda Knox and Raffele Sollecito.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, every time I see the match of Meredith’s DNA, I find it extremely emotional. If I was her mother, just watching this would cause me to break down.

Meredith’s DNA had no business on that knife.

I agree former bad girl. Well done viadellapergola for reminding us with that brilliant post.

A TJMK reader project here that sure would help us with a future post.

ViaDellaPergola wrote above: “But Sollecito STILL lets that highly incriminating statement stand - one that is enough to secure a conviction in an American court all by itself.”

We want to build a list of convictions where the evidence was minimal but decisive - in effect a list of smoking guns in other cases.

We have already had posts on several. Poster Giustizia gave us this very very good example.

Hi Peter

The case of Jessie Dotson is can be seen as one such example and perhaps even more telling as there is no solid piece of physical evidence, no smoking gun! Dotson is convicted of the murder of 6 people, yet there is an absence of DNA evidence and he has left none of his own blood at this brutal scene, where he stabbed and shot 6 of his family members.

“...investigators told the court that his DNA was not found at the crime scene, and they did not find any DNA from victims on the bicycle police believe Dotson used to leave the scene.”

One of the victims told police that it was Jessie Dotson before he died in hospital.

The judge emphasized that, “Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence”  and continued that “It would be nice if we found something that would be a big red flag that said go get this person. But we haven’t found that. DNA is a great tool, fingerprints are a great tool, but they’re not the end all, be all.”

This is a case from Memphis.

How can the defense team possibly discount the DNA evidence in light of Raffelle’s nonsensical story?

In an American court a lie like his may help to form “reasonable doubt”, but if proven she was never in his place, I agree, would be enough right there to lean a jury in the US toward conviction. Not sure how AK’s defense handled, pardon the pun these facts along with the fact that AK’s DNA is on the handle.

DNA evidence in US courts has been used to free the innocent and convict the guilty. As far as anyone should be concerned, if one strand of hair was proven to belong to the accused and found at a murder scene, it wouldn’t be called a small amount of evidence -despite the fact that a person has many thousands of strands of hair that weren’t found.

The video presentation was excellent and increases my confidence in the original verdict from 99.999 to 100 percent.

I have to admit that this video depcting the double DNA knife is chilling , to say the very least. After all this is very likely the instrument bearing the murderer´s hands.

I wonder if Amanda Knox will ever come to a point that she will feel remorse over what she did. Will she be having nightmares once she is in prison for good and remember the blood , will her remaining life be daily hell as she ponders her enormous , irredemable guilt ?

Another question that interests me is if she or RS will eventually try to kill themselves one day. I am surprised that neither of them has attempted suicide so far .

You always hear the defense going on about the small amount of DNA on the knife tip and the fact that the test couldn’t be repeated. They DON’T talk about whether the DNA is Meredith’s. It’s so cynical to try to get the evidence thrown out just because the test couldn’t be done twice.  The first test found Meredith’s DNA.  The test sheets have been saved and the overlays show clearly that the DNA is Meredith’s.  Equally offensive is the claim that Sollecito’s DNA on the bra clasp got there by contamination. Are we to believe that in the time the clasp was on the floor of the apartment some of Sollecito’s DNA flew in through the window and landed on the clasp, or that all Italian crime-lab technicians have Sollecito’s DNA on their gloves at all times so that when they handle any evidence Sollecito’s DNA gets transferred to it? Give me a break!

Hello aethelred23

As far a suicide attempts by either RS or AK, I would say that is unlikely. The seem quite happy and content in the videos linked to this site from their recent court appearances. Homicidal maniacs they surely are, but they are not idiots (despite how idiotic they think others may be to believe their stories)and they have to be aware that they way things are going now, they have nothing to lose but try for an outside and I mean waaaay outside chance they will be set free on appeals. It is clear based on their happy go lucky attitudes in the courtroom recently that they not only love the attention, but have most likely learned to accept their fate and perhaps prison life isn’t as bad as they expected. I remember one of the detectives in the OJ Simpson case was asked after the verdict about OJ’s so called suicide threats during the “Bronco chase”. The detective stated “OJ would never have killed himself. He loves himself too much.” I think the same goes for both AK and RS.

” “She had never ever been to his place - in fact, she had only set eyes on him once or twice, very briefly.”

re the above Source:

Its in “How Each of The Three Subtly But Surely Pushed The Other Two Closer to The Fire (Part 1 of 4)
Posted by Cesare Beccaria on 05/12/10 at 12:31 PM:

.....Let’s now look at Amanda’s [written]statement given to police on 6 November 2007…....“It’s impossible that Meredith’s DNA is on the knife”, says Amanda, “because she’s never been to Raffaele’s apartment…..”

So Amanda Knox herself is the original source - its in her statement given to police on 6 November!

Better still , here:

http://www.sciencespheres.com/2009/11/crucible-of-perugia.html

is a copy of part of AK’s Prison Diary, written in her own handwriting, in English:

“Raffaele and I have used this knife to cook, and it’s impossible that Meredith’s DNA is on the knife because she’s never been to Raffaele’s apartment before….”

“Science Spheres” is an AK apologist.

The purpose of the above Post was to ridicule:

“the English translation of the Italian translation (you read that right)”

which had omitted the above quotation.[!]

Talk about Hoist with your own Petard - both AK’s and sciencespheres’s!

What is up with the above article? Are these accusations regarding Rudy Guede’s previous break ins true? I also found the translation from AK’s diary to Italian interesting-especially after seeing the original manuscript.

As many may realize who have read my posts, that based on the facts presented on this site, I am of the belief that AK and RS murdered Meredith. However, I also think that if one was to look at the “facts” presented in the site above, that one may decide to take a different perspective. I am not sold on this, however, I strongly hope someone who contributes to this site will read my words and present a rebuttal to the facts presented just so I and anyone else who was a bit taken back by these “facts” can be reassured that they are nothing but propaganda.

Posted by Kazwell on 01/28/11 at 09:52 AM | #

Hi Kaz,

Of course, the other “facts” presented in the site above are bolony; my point is resticted entirely to the AK Diary-extract, in AK’s own handwriting.
