Rome Press Conference Reports: Sollecito Separates From Knox, Bongiorno Misleads On Her Text

Posted by Our Main Posters

1. Overview Of This Post

Sollecito and Bongiorno held a much-attended press conference at which they tried to hang Knox out to dry.

This post first quotes some of the reports and then looks at the big reveal, that there is proof Knox was out TWICE including later in the evening when Sollecito was still at home.

2. Reports From English-Language Media

Lizzy Davies In The Guardian

Raffaele Sollecito, the ex-boyfriend of Amanda Knox who faces a 25-year prison sentence for the murder of Meredith Kercher, has placed renewed pressure on his American co-defendant by noting “certain anomalies” in her case.

As he unveiled his defence strategy for a potentially definitive appeal which could see him and Knox definitively convicted of the British student’s killing in 2007, the 30-year-old Italian said he still believed “to this day in the innocence of Amanda Marie Knox”.

But, in what some read as a sign he is preparing to distance himself from his former lover after six-and-a-half years of rigidly joint defence, he added: “But obviously, in what I read in the court papers, I register certain anomalies.”

While saying she hoped both convictions would be quashed by Italy’s supreme court, Sollecito’s lawyer, Giulia Bongiorno, urged the judges to take “coherent and consequent decisions” if they felt there were contradictions in the appeal court’s sentence, and not to “automatically extend anomalies pertaining to Amanda to Sollecito”.

At a press conference in Rome on Tuesday, Sollecito acknowledged, as he has done previously, that he cannot be absolutely certain of how much time the 27-year-old student from Seattle spent in his flat on the early part of the evening of the murder, even if he is certain the two spent the night together. The pair have always said their memories were foggy due to the effects of cannabis.

Sollecito’s appeal, said Bongiorno, focused on a text message which Knox says she sent from her then boyfriend’s home at 8.35pm the evening of the murder but which the Florence court, in its reasoning, accepts was sent from outside.

“According to the sentence, this [SMS] was not written from Raffaele’s house. Therefore the two were not together,” said Bongiorno. She added that, from her client’s point of view, the discrepancy was “either the nth mistake of the sentence, or ‘I [Sollecito] was lied to, too.’”

She added that his defence team had estimated that the attack on Kercher took place between 9pm and 9.30pm ““ though a time of death has never been agreed on and prosecutors have argued it occurred later. Sollecito says evidence from his computer proves he was at his home until at least 9.26pm.

Another hinge of his defence is a memo written by Knox in which she admitted to confusion over earlier statements in which she had falsely accused bar owner Patrick Lumumba of the murder, said she was present at her house and heard the 21-year-old Leeds University student “screaming”.

She later retracted the statements.

Sollecito said he did not believe the contents of the “odd, eccentric” memo, but that as the Florence appeals court ““ which reinstated the pair’s guilty verdicts in January ““ appeared to draw on parts of it for the convictions, he was forced to respond to that version of events.

“For me this memo recounts only fantasies and figments of the imagination,” he said. “But if what were written in the memo were true, taking it as a given that the judges are right [to use it in their verdict], could you explain to me where I figure in it?”

He added: “What is my participation? What is my motive, my involvement, anything? Explain it to me, because my name is Raffaele Sollecito and not Amanda Marie Knox.”

Unsigned, BBC Website

At a press conference in Rome on Tuesday, Sollecito insisted that he was innocent but said he remained convinced that Knox was too.

Unveiling his new defence strategy, he said January’s guilty verdict had been based on evidence from Knox that exonerated him.

“The 25-year prison sentence given to me is based entirely on the statement written by Amanda Knox in pre-trial detention. She herself exonerates me entirely,” he told press.

In the statement, she says she was in her flat while the murder was being committed, “with my hands over my ears because in my head I could hear Meredith screaming”.

Sollecito is not mentioned by Knox in the text, which his defence team says is proof he was not present at the scene.

“Taking it as read that the judges are right [in basing their verdict on Knox’s statement] will you please explain what I have to do with it?” Sollecito said.

Knox later withdrew the statement after saying she had written it under police pressure, and the pair have been each other’s alibis since, saying they spent the night together at his house.

Sollecito’s lawyer Giulia Bongiorno said that while he has always said he “spent the night” with Knox, he has never said they spent the evening together.

Ms Bongiorno added that her client’s appeal would cite a text message that Knox claims to have sent while with Sollecito at his house.

“This text message, according to the court’s own ruling, was not sent from his house. Therefore the pair were not together,” she said.

Despite throwing doubt on his ex-girlfriend’s alibi, the Italian said he had “always believed, and still believe, that Amanda Marie Knox is innocent.”

Hannah Roberts Daily Mail

Knox and Sollecito have always maintained that they were together the evening of the brutal 2007 murder in Perugia, after which Miss Kercher, 21, was found half naked her throat slit in the cottage she shared with Knox.

But Sollecito’s lawyer Giulia Bongiorno said that ‘for the entire first part of the evening, they were not together. It’s this first part of the evening that’s new [to his defence]’.

Sollecito has pointed to phone records that show that Knox was away from his house for part of the evening.

In a dramatic change of legal tactics that he announced in a press conference in Rome he has now claimed there are “˜anomalies’ in Knox’s story.

Knox says that she received a text, while at Sollecito’s house, from her boss, telling her not to come to her job at a nightclub that night.

But phone records show that the text was received on the road between their houses, something that their retrial judges felt was key in their reconstruction of events. Sollecito’s phone and computer records show that he was at home that evening.

Sollecito said: “˜I have always believed in the innocence of Amanda. But I have to react to the accusations of the court and to the text message.

“˜Either the court has made their umpteenth mistake or she lied to me.’

He added: “˜I was in love with her and we had some very happy moments, but ultimately Amanda was a stranger.’

‘There are anomalies in her version of events. Against me there is nothing.’

The ‘fundamental basis’ for the conviction is Knox’s memo to police in which she says she was at the cottage when the murder took place, he said.

“˜I believe this was a hallucination, but if the court believes it is true then they have to accept that she did not say I was there. She gave me an alibi. “˜

It is not the first time Sollecito has expressed his doubts about the holes in Knox’s story.

In an interview with Italian television earlier this year, he said Knox had spent the night with him but went back to her place to shower, he said. When she returned, she was ‘very agitated,’ he said.

She told him that it looked like someone had broken in and that there was blood in the bathroom, Sollecito said. But rather than call the police, she showered and returned to his place something he finds odd. “˜Certainly I asked her questions,’ he said. ‘Why did you take a shower? Why did she spend so much time there?’

He didn’t get any real answers from her, he said.

3. Analysis: Bongiorno’s Claim About Knox’s Location When Texting

Giulia Bongiorno claimed yesterday that Amanda Knox replied to Patrick’s text while she was away from Sollecito’s house.

This is demonstrably untrue.

Mobile-phone-tower records show that Knox’s phone received Patrick’s incoming text telling her not to come to work when she was already somewhere on the route to his bar in Via Alessi. Knox apparently then turned around and went back to Sollecito’s house.

Mobile-phone-tower records show Knox texted back, responding to Patrick, from Sollecito’s house in Corso Garibaldi at 8:35.

They both claim this in their books - Sollecito himself claims it too.  Those books are pretty suspect throughout, but for once they both tell the same truth.

Some five minutes later, Knox and Ms Popovic met at Sollecito’s house so Knox was still there then. That is still three to four hours away from the best estimate of Meredith’s death.

So the time-period prior to 8:35 pm when Knox texted from Sollecito’s flat was the only time-period when there is hard proof that Knox and Sollecito were ever apart that night. In her unforced statements on 5-6 November Knox did claim she went out alone to see Patrick, but we have only her word she was alone.

Here is the narrative from Judge Massei’s 2009 report.

− 20:18:12: Amanda receives the SMS sent to her by Patrick Lumumba, which let her off from having to go to work at the “šLe Chic”› pub on the evening of 1 November. At the time of reception the phone connected to the cell on Via dell’Aquila 5-Torre dell’Acquedotto sector 3, whose signal does not reach Raffaele Sollecito’s house. The young woman was therefore far [i.e. absent] from Corso Garibaldi 30 when the SMS reached her, as she was walking in an area which was shown to be served by the Via dell’Aquila 5-Torre dell’Acquedotto sector 3 cell. This point of her route could correspond to Via U. Rocchi, to Piazza Cavallotti, to Piazza IV Novembre, bearing in mind that Lumumba’s pub is located in Via Alessi, and that Amanda Knox would have had to travel along the above-mentioned roads and the piazza in order to reach the pub

− 20.35.48 Amanda sent an SMS in reply to Patrick, at No. 338-7195723; the message was sent when the young woman’s mobile phone was in Corso Garibaldi 30 or in the immediate neighbourhood. The cell used, in fact, was that of Via Berardi sector 7.

Here is the narrative from Judge Nencini’s 2014 report.

At 20.18 and 12 seconds, Amanda Marie Knox received a text message sent to her by Patrick Lumumba, in which he informed her that it would not be necessary for her to go to the bar to carry out her usual work. At the time of receipt, Amanda Marie Knox’s handset connected via the sector 3 mast at Torre dell’Acquedotto, 5 dell’Aquila, as shown by phone records entered in evidence. This mast cannot be reached from the vicinity of 130 Via Garibaldi, the home of Raffaele Sollecito. According to the findings of the judicial police entered in evidence, this mast could be reached by anyone in Via Rocchi, piazza Cavallotti or piazza 4 Novembre, all locations in Perugia which are intermediate between 130 Via Garibaldi, the home of Raffaele Sollecito, and Via Alessi, where the “Le Chic” bar is located.

From this set of facts established in the case, Amanda Marie Knox’s claim, according to which she received Patrick Lumumba’s text message while she was at 130 Via Garibaldi, appears false. Given the mast connected to and the time, it is reasonable to assume that, when Amanda received the message, she had already left Raffaele Sollecito’s home and was on her way to the “Le Chic” bar. Presumably, she then turned around and went back.

Here, then, is the first crack in the account of the young woman who, in her narrative, claims never to have left the house at 130 Via Garibaldi from the moment of her entrance into the house in the afternoon of 1 November 2007, together with Raffaele Sollecito. There is oral evidence (the deposition of Popovic) and evidence obtained through phone records that, at around 18:00 on 1 November 2007, Amanda and Raffaele were at the home of the latter. Later, at precisely 20:35 and 48 seconds, when Amanda Marie Knox sent a text message to Patrick Lumumba, connecting to a mast serving 130 Via Garibaldi, both were once again [118]together at Raffaele Sollecito’s home. This fact is confirmed by Popovic, who went there to cancel that evening’s appointment with Raffaele. In fact, the witness reported that she had visited Raffaele’s home at around 20:40 in the evening.

In essence, it can be established with certainty that Amanda and Raffaele were apart, albeit for a limited period of time, on the evening of 1 November 2007, contrary to what is stated repeatedly in multiple statements made by Amanda Marie Knox.

It seems Bongiorno got it wrong about Knox, and Sollecito sat beside her happily nodding his okay.

Comments

Amanda’s book says that RS had ‘never seen Amelie’ before, and in his book version, it was ‘their favorite movie’ implying they had watched it before, together.  Just another one of the small discrepancies.

Why lie about these things, one has to ask?  The whole nauseating details about their sex life is revolting to read too.  I mean, really, they are so unnecessary to the book and sound so contrived, and I feel like their co-writers were just getting a thrill out of all of these real and make-believe scenarios.

Also if he is suddenly remembering these little details, why didn’t he testify when he had the chance?  It’s a bit late in the game now.

I didn’t know before that AK definitely received that text from Lumumba while outside of the house and then has lied about it repeatedly.

David Marriott is having another bad day.

The Mirror newspaper in Britain have published the story about Amanda Knox’s alleged links to local cocaine dealers:

Amanda Knox ‘links to local cocaine dealers’ to be used in bid to extradite her to Italy

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/amanda-knox-links-local-cocaine-3800662

Prosecutors are set to detail Amanda Knox’s disturbing links to local cocaine dealers as part of their bid to extradite Meredith Kercher’s killer to Italy to face justice.

The American defiantly refused to return to Perugia for her re-trial this year, in which her and her ex-lover Raffaele Sollecito were re-convicted of the British student’s murder.

However, now the 26-year-old’s appeal against the guilty verdict is in jeopardy after lawyers poised to use her drug links and pressed ahead with plans to force her back Italy on an extradition warrant.

The development comes just two days after Sollecito, 30, dramatically abandoned his former lover by claiming “anomalies in her version of events” over the 21-year-old’s murder.

During their first trial in 2009 lawyers alleged Meredith’s killers had acted during a drug-fuelled frenzy when she was brutally stabbed to death at the home she shared with Knox in Perugia.

Lead prosecutor Giuliano Mignini argued Knox, Sollecito and local dealer Rudy Guede, who was previously convicted of the Leeds University student’s murder, all acted “under the fumes of drugs and alcohol”.

But details have now emerged alleging Knox had a known drug dealer’s number stored in her phone at the time with police claiming they discovered calls between her and the supplier’s mobile in the days before and after the murder.

Local media stated the numbers on her mobile helped lead to the discovery of a “drug ring for university students and professionals.”

They claimed a police report attached to Knox’s file that stated that “in the course of the investigation regarding the criminal proceedings 9066/07 [Kercher’s murder] they discovered that an Italian person from time to time replenished Amanda Knox’s narcotic substances, as well as having allegedly had with her the relationship of a sexual nature”.

A local man was later sentenced to two years and eight months for dealing cocaine with the help of information allegedly taken from the American’s phone.

During their re-trial, Meredith’s family attorney Vieri Enrico Faviani told the court in December: “We have seen that all of this happened in conjunction with taking drugs.”

Details of Knox’s finances while in Italy have also shown how she was bleeding cash from her accounts at an alarmingly high rate raising further suspicion among prosecution lawyers.

Knox’s transaction history from WaMu bank in the summer of 2007 - which she released on her own website - shows she spent roughly $638 (£371) in Seattle in the month of July before leaving for Italy.

In August, her spending skyrocketed to a whopping $2,765.33 (£1,610).

That time did include travel to Germany, but still clocked in at nearly four times the $750 (£436) per month the local Umbra study abroad programs advises students to budget for typical expenses while abroad.

In September, she withdrew $2,452.60 (£1,428) from European ATMs,

generally taking out in excess of $300 (£174) in cash each time. And in October, she took out $1,637.25 (£953), all in cash.

In the first week of the month alone, she withdrew more than $700 (£407).

Recent Frank Sforza’s article on the Bongiorno’s press conference has universal symbol of freemasonry at the bottom. That is an interesting development. See also recent PMF post.

FS articles, RS press conferences, symbols of freemasonry, . . .  it is all getting too big for me. This whole case has never been my hobby. There was and is the urge and fight for justice for Meredith. I admire the insightfull contributions, but/and I feel I block the input of them I’ve learned insightfull about.

justice for Meredith will be done, have no doubt about it

Hi, Popper, I have noted the freemason logo Frank signs off with, a pretty funny way of sending out the secret handshake SOS thingy. I’ve been mentioning the masonic occult background to this case for some time, but it usually elicits a huh? from our North American brethren, so, I desist.

But, I do agree that nobody schmoozes like Frank, he may even believe in some of that stuff. I did see some interesting literature on one of his host’s book shelf, and if an American judge should turn out to be a mason, well, there’s no better way to progress to a mid-level position.

(Having the right blood lines is a lot better 😊

Ergon, yes, it may mean nothing or it could also mean FOA include or have asked the support of such forces, allegedly present in part in secret services and military forces of many Western countries, especially the US (but not in justice system).  This would be compatible with the insisting (paid by whom?) PR effort since the beginning in the US, not the place PR was needed as the trial was in Italy not in the US.

The above could suggest they knew the girl was guilty and tried to escalate the issue using such forces to influence US politics to do something while keeping unmentioned any detail on real incriminating evidence.  At the moment the first effort not very successfully the second quite well. It could also mean FS is nobody and jokes with such symbols.  We can only observe that symbol is there.

Hi Helder Licht

“FS articles, RS press conferences, symbols of freemasonry, . . .  it is all getting too big for me.”

You know the English-language joke perhaps where a psychiatrist says to a patient: “Good news, you are not paranoid, people really are after you?”

In our case, we are not the conspiracists. Our battle is essentially against conspiracists, in my case in part because they have done real harm to many national systems in terms of people backing off suspiciously just when we need those systems the mostest.

However, there are some hints of conspiracy among the fellow-travelers of the Knox-Sollecito campaign. As Popper notes, some odd directions have been taken, and we do try to know the enemy.

There are flavors of freemasons, and some are not so different from Rotary. Perugia and Florence have a lot of flavors.

The common characteristic is the members scratching one another’s back rather than big aims like taking over government or justice or being mean to the catholics. In political parties it is a way of life that people scratch one another’s back. Same with the mafias.

Its this scratching of one anothers back that seems to help explain some things here, like pulling the rug over the MOF case, and the US campaign, and what led to the appointment of Hellmann, and why Girlanda played to Bongiorno and Berlusconi in his dabbling in the case, and why Dr Mignini has been so demonized.

Our interest is a bit limited in dragging this into the open, and anyway rather amazingly all of those backscratchers are showing a tendency of losing big now, without any pushes from us. Frank Sforza is in court and a wanted man in the US. Judge Hellmann is on the outside. Girlanda is down, Heavey is diminished, Preston and Spezi are diminished, Moore’s and Fischer’s maniacal abusing is losing all traction, many others are now with their heads down, big UK and US media are turning, and Dr Mignini and Judge Massei and Judge Nencini are riding high

In fact, unfolding is an amazing triumph for the good guys. Italy has had its battles, but there is an enormous number of good guys there, brave cops and so on (over 100 blown up by the mafias, but they keep going) and main trends there are good ones - better than main trends in the US.

Those who do want to know a tad more about this murky subtext can read something about it in one of Yummi’s overviews from Italy:

Hi Popper

Yes for some reason Knox was made with sharp elbows and a tin ear and getting her out of scrapes was not a novelty to the family.

My guess is it was Edda who first realised AK’s involvement here, after that really bizarre phonecall, and her public wriggling over the content of that call on the stand at trial was something amazing.

At the end of it, Prosecutor Comodi in effect said dryly: “Really? You discussed all of that in 90 seconds?”

Mind you, Knox lived away from home near UW for two years before she headed to Perugia for more drugs and a little language training.

They might not have fully realised what they were signing off on, though it was up to them to do due diligence.

http://truejustice.org/ee/index.php?/tjmk/comments/questions_for_knox_3_why_the_huge_lie/

Their campaign has not been at all politically or legally astute, the worst I personally have seen, and they and AK sure are now in a quagmire.

this is just my personal opinion but I think parents of both defendants know.  Those of AK must know as there is really too much against her and she gave them a lot of signs. Calling PR experts almost before lawyers is compatible with this.  The father of RS, although with fewer elements, may also be aware as he knows his son, his frequent calling means he was present, even if in another city, and wanted to supervise.

Agree PR campaign was poor, failed to gain mass consensus in the US,  certainly failed miserably in Italy where almost nobody thinks them innocent, used too many dodgy characters and proven lies ... those who spread the verb are people who cannot even present their face in Court as at risk of being arrested for perjury and aggravated defamation (they slander officials knowing they are lying).  Their high moment was long ago, they tricked a young senator to say a few words pro AK.

that senator does not talk anymore we may believe she was informed about overwhelming evidence against AK and understood this game is risky for her ( and it will be very risky for all those who associate themselves with a sexual murderer at the final conviction)

Without any solicitation instead a famous Harvard professor spoke against the huge bias of US media.  The Supreme Court of Italy wrote a verdict that could not be clearer and a new appeal is saying again this case is a slam dunk (compare the continuous use by Nencini of the words “but there is more…”. )

Posted by Popper on 07/03/14 at 01:33 PM | #

I would agree with Popper that both sets of defendants’ parents do know…as far as I am able to ‘read’ their various expressions, and what they say and don’t say.

There’s a witheld, resigned look, frequently, - the equivelent of pursed lips, especially with Curt Knox.

And Dr. Sollecito looks very troubled - by more than just the prospect of his son being in jail.

Simon Hattenstone from The Guardian admits that convicted sex offenders Rolf Harris, Jimmy Savile and Max Clifford all pulled the wool over his eyes.

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jul/03/rolf-harris-max-clifford-jimmy-savile-interviewed-dark-sides?CMP=twt_gu

He forgot to include Amanda Knox in that list of convicted sex offenders.

I’ve just left the following comment on The Guardian website:

Amanda Knox - another convicted sex offender - has also pulled the wool over Simon Hattenstone’s eyes. Simon hasn’t read the translations of the official court documents and court testimony, which are available online at the Meredith Kercher wiki website, because he’s been too busy being pen pals with Knox. Why anyone would believe anything Amanda Knox says is beyond me. She gave three different alibis which all turned out to be false and repeatedly accused an innocent man of murder. The Italian Supreme Court confirmed Knox’s conviction for slander. She is a convicted criminal and a proven liar.

Frank Sforza has tried to pull the wool over so many people and for a while he is successful since he becomes who they want him to be.
Unfortunately and from a psychological point of view such people can’t keep up the pretense since (And as any psychologist will tell you) Once such people have attained their goal they revert to who they really are.
(Frank in Canada or Frank at the Knox household where he tried to screw Knox and was ejected)

Hence the Freemason pitch since like any con man he will try anything to make himself “One of them” and thereby use that friendship for his own gains.
Unfortunately, and just like Knox, his own persona and past always catches up with him. In Knox’s case the money the phone number to her drug pusher, the body odor plus much much more of course
As to Frank Sforza and because of this I don’t put much credence in the Freemason logo. Freemasons being what they always check the background of would be members. Also you have to prove that you are successful monetarily where Frank falls down plus his criminal record.

As to Knox. Well eventually there are no secrets and that is how the FOA failed because their first premise was wrong in believing that promotion was the way to go. Really stupid when you consider that by doing so and keeping Knox in the spotlight the pubic, including her supporters, will eventually come to the truth, it’s unavoidable.

Take for example Guede climbing in through the window which is so full of holes that it’s laughable. They defend this hypothesis with everything they have while ignoring at all costs the simple question “Why didn’t Guede just go in the front door?” After all, and as every good burglar knows, panels on any door is very simple to remove and very quiet too. That is a lot better that throwing rocks and trying to climb walls thereby alerting the neighbors. He did this without leaving any trace at all. Ah well never rule out stupidity and denial in the vast majority of the FOA who by their responses are very immature. Michelle Moore being a case in point.
Love the latest developments by the way.
Onwards and upwards…

From AK’s own blog in her own words: “It has been claimed that, in this most recent round of closing arguments and in interviews since the latest guilty verdict, Raffaele and his defense attorneys have finally betrayed their resentment and started to put distance between him and me legally and personally.

This is not the case.”

He’s a liar and a coward. She’s a psycho.

@ RS

We all know you weren’t ‘together in the flat’ all night you worm. YOU WERE TOGETHER at villa della pergola sexually assaulting a young woman, brutally stabbing her, locking her in a dark cold bedroom, stealing her only chance to cry for help, then running away like the rats you are.

@ Knox

Your time in a dark place with no windows and doors is fast approaching again

The Independent has just published an article about Amanda Knox’s connection with a convicted cocaine dealer:

Hopefully the media in Seattle won’t allow David Marriott to suppress the truth about this matter for much longer.

Hi, Popper, Sfarzo above all lacks judgment. Appending the masonic symbol was another stupid mistake and lead me to believe he has no real connection with them, but has come in contact with, peripherally through Mario Spezi and others in Perugia. He’s a tool, is all.

He’s been very active on Twitter telling Raffaele’s family to put a sock on it, or “RS would lose friends”. I think the symbol was just him, using the subliminal approach we’ve come to see about this case. I doubt it will come to much. Even though it’s addressed to an ‘American’ audience, the media slowly seems to be distancing itself.

A note on where everything referred to in the post is located, for those who have not yet been there. If you click on the image below, a larger version will pop up.

The mobile-phone transponder which relayed Patrick’s text to Amanda Knox as she was walking toward his bar is at the highpoint of Perugia. It is where the new mayor has his family palazzo and just above where Meredith’s English friends lived.

In theory transponders can be connected-to from a long way away, several miles (say from Sollecito’s) but their beams are trained to point downward so they often only extend about 1000 yards. That is so the same frequencies can be used by other towers more than 1000 yards away.

Knox was somewhere along the route shown by the red dots, which took her in front of the School for Foreigners, through an arch, and up the street where many bars and clubs are that she and Meredith both frequented.

Then she would have crossed the large piazza (where some drug dealers were) and the small piazza (where the law courts are) and headed back down the hill quite a long way to Patrick’s bar.

As she had come from Sollecitos house, the route shown by the red dots makes sense. It is the shortest although it involves a long climb up and down again.

But had she been coming from her own house (Meredith’s house) she would have taken the shorter route shown by the green dots, starting by traversing the upper deck of the parking building. There is little climbing along that route.

That route actually goes right by the offices of the law firm which Guede might - might - have burgled. There are a lot of oddities about that break-in, though, see our new series soon on the great Guede Hoax.

Below the “medieval” surface which is carefully preserved and which locals and tourists love, the old part of Perugia is pretty modern and it is easy to drive and get around by bus and the monorail

In a year or two a longhaul escalator (one of the longest in Europe) is to be installed from the parking facility to the highpoint where the mobile phone transponder is. Property values will skyrocket.

Meredith would not have known about that proposed escalator, and she would not have ridden the monorail which opened several months after she died. The questura is at the lower end of it.

Blow back for RS? Nell at PMF NET has screen captures of his cousin Cristina Magnani http://www.perugiamurderfile.net/viewtopic.php?p=121094#p121094 complaining that the ‘Americans’ who controlled the Honor Bound and Raffaele Sollecito FB pages removed his admin privileges then subsequently reinstated them back in May.

Sure, the “Americans” who set up those pages temporarily removed RS when he and his family strayed from the path they set out for him. I’m sure a letter from John Kelly reminded them he has certain rights to his name and book title.

Remember that it was Chris Mellas who registered raffaelesollecito dot org originally, and who can forget Frank Sfarzo and his Perugia Shock, also set up in Sweden with ‘American’ backers? The many Amanda Knox Facebook pages set up by groupies who had to be told to desist, and the original Twitter accounts, since disavowed?

Hi Ergon

You are talking there about Sollecito not only being back to arms length re Knox and the FOA in Italy (not surprisng as they shafted him in his own book for which he must face court).

But he is also back to arms length re Knox and the FOA in the US where he has a lawyer in New York and seemingly a new PR lady in Washington.

FOA have only themselves to blame. They have gone several bridges too far. I had a look at the Injustice Anwhere forum to see if there is any recognition of this there.

Maybe among a few. Some really worry that the drug dealer will talk. The general feeling is that Sollecito does have the upper hand.  So what do they do?!

More bigotry against Italy and more rants about Knox’s interrogation - though we have had EIGHT posts so far of transcripts proving that knox’s “interrogation” and forced accusation is a hoax.  Also they tangle science, and misunderstandf us!

(1) How they tangle science.

By Anon: No that there is much probative value to the drug bullshit, but please tell us your contention as to what substance was put into the hash or pot that would lead to a drug-fueled killing, please provide medical opinins to back up the physical/mental reactions to the substance(s) you perscribe. Good luck finding anything proven by medical science!

Sure Anon there is plenty of proof skunk hash kills - and most hash is skunk these days. Google these words:  skunk cannabis psychotic incidents murder

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1031204/Why-skunk-smokers-18-TIMES-likely-psychotic-cannabis-users.html
http://www.standard.co.uk/news/boy-on-skunk-cannabis-butchered-a-grandmother-7195977.html

And try that with cocaine instead of skunk cannabis. Hits will show more psychotic reactions and more deaths.

(2) How they misunderstand us:

Carlofab:  Floods of misinformation on TJMK:

<blockquote>TJMK POST:

Mobile-phone-tower records show that Knox’s phone received Patrick’s incoming text telling her not to come to work when she was already somewhere on the route to his bar in Via Alessi.

Knox apparently then turned around and went back to Sollecito’s house, because mobile-phone-tower records show Knox texted back, responding to Patrick, from Sollecito’s house in Corso Garibaldi at 8:35.

Carlofab:  First of all, Knox wasn’t supposed to work until 10 pm, so would not have been on the way to work at 8:30. Second “They both claim this in their books - Sollecito himself claims it too.” That’s just not so. Do they even have the books?</blockquote>

Yes, we do have the books, we quoted from them in the post below, take a look.

Both do say what we said they say: Knox texted back from inside RS’s house. That is contrary to what Bongiorno claimed. That helps Knox, a little, though Carlofab misses that.

Happy 4th of July!

Ah Yes the famous Carlofab bleating about something that by itself is probably inconsequential. This, after all, is the only thing they have ever had and indeed is all they have left, and that is the attempt to refute independent aspects of the evidence. Such a waste of time since as time has gone forward people have come to realize that there is more going on here than independent snippets of information. My question therefore is “Just who are they trying to convince?” They don’t want to know of course because if they did, and as everyone here knows and understands, they would realize that the trial itself is fundamentally over and no more evidence will be admitted.

The real joke on the FOA is that they somehow believe that since there is silence from Italy then nothing is being done so the drug connection plus Knox finances must have come as a shock. The usual children carlofab fredly dopre Denver etc; must all work for Ground Report since by their syntax they interchange from time to time as well. But then I suppose that most of the people who lived with either Jim Jones in Guyana or David Keresh on Wako Texas believed what they were doing was correct.

I can just imagine them sitting around during coffee break discussing how they can twist the latest revelations since no doubt they have a huge chart on the wall showing accusations on the left and their usual responses on the right. Must be consistent you know.
Sad really, because all they have left is deny, deny, deny, and if that fails, once more accuse Mignini by dredging up the Frank Sfarzo game book of “satanic verses.” Mind you, in view of Knox cocaine connection perhaps Mignini wasn’t so far off the mark after all. That and Knox spending habits plus Merediths stolen rent money.
Never mind They can always phone Bruce Fischer or better still Steve Moore or for light entertainment his wife Michelle

Carlofab’s misplaced zeal has resulted in his drawing attention to the very relevant fact that ” Knox wasn’t supposed to work until 10 pm, so would not have been on the way to work at 8:30”

Therefore, although she was definitely not at Sollecito’s place when she received Lumumba’s message, and may well have been on the route to Lumumba’s bar, that may not have been her intended destination.

At 8:30 the women’s cottage was empty. Knox’s intended destination might well have been the Cottage, or somewhere else “on the route”, where she received Lumumba’s message from the same cell-tower, which covered the Cottage also.

Knox had the time and opportunity to then acquire drugs, money, including Meredith’s money, or set in motion other actions.
