Rocco Girlanda’s Strutting Manic Grinning Intrusion Seems A Major Danger To Sollecito/Knox Harmony

Posted by Peter Quennell

We will be having several posts on this whole new development.

They will go further than what is published into the politics (as Girlanda is a politician), and the law.(as Girlanda may be subject to reprimand, and legally liable if his intrusion weakens Knox in any way).

We have been observing during the legal process of the past two years a series of what our psychologists believe are minor sexual deviancies or perversions all masquerading as the Amanda Knox White Knights. None of them ever really help Amanda Knox, and all of them heap hurt on Meredith’s friends and her for-ever-suffering family.

The professional psychological take across the board seems to be that if Curt Knox and Edda Mellas take the notion of kind parenting seriously, they would certainly allow no more of these damaging posturing phonies - each with an agenda they cannot possibly fulfill - within 100 miles of their daughter at this time.

Amanda Knox is clearly somewhat emotionally fragile, and she will have a very tough time getting through her trial for slander and then her appeal. There is in fact very little wiggle room for the defenses within the very tough constraints set by Judge Massei.

The defenses have a tough enough time of it already. They don’t need these deviant White Knights repeatedly trying to leap to the front of the parade. We now have the ugly smirking intrusion of Rocco Girlanda, yet another one intent on buoying Knox up to think she is some sort of goddess on the point of stepping out into an adoring world. And he, Mighty Rocco Girlanda, is her savior.

And for what? For Amanda to then come crashing back down at her next hearing, or back in the grim environment of her cell. Lift her up, crash her down. Lift her up, crash her down. Lift her up, crash her down.

Way to make Amanda Knox a basket case for life. She could even become completely catatonic.

And then what, Mr Girlanda? Would THAT be good for your career?

For the sake of Knox’s threatened remaining sanity, her parents should put in place some serious expectations management. Dont believe us? Ask ANY good psychologist and they will tell Knox’s parents the same thing. She does NOT need all these phony promises - where everybody else gets rich and famous. And she lingers on in her cell.

And after the damage he has already done, Rocco Girlanda should make a point of going far away. And if he doesnt, his wife and five children should make him.

Ignoring everything else for one moment, I would expect an MP to understand that releasing a book of any kind about someone involved in a trial before their trial process was completed would be highly inappropriate.  Releasing it a month before appeal hearings are due to start - he should have known better.

As for the contents of the book, I have only seen the snippets such as those in Nick Pisa’s Daily Mail article (see Peter’s comment on the previous post for a link) - the snippets printed do seem to be, for want of a better word, quite creepy.  As an MP I would have expected the author to write a serious book with the greatest respect for the victim, Meredith Kercher, maybe trying to understand further the events of that tragic night in November 2007.  But no.

I am against anything that profits from an act so ugly and evil as murder - and that includes this book.  Mr. Girlanda should have known better - if this causes him any trouble he has only himself to blame.

Well, I don’t really want to read about a middle aged, married man’s erotic dreams about convicted murderer Knox, but I’ve read that is it pretty common for convicted murderers to have people become obsessed with them, write to them in prison and even visit - some even get married to the convicts (perhaps this is another of Girlanda’s dreams). I think the same thing is happening here. Girlanda is obsessed with Knox. It’s embarrassing for him to parade his weird crush in public in this way, it’s not helping Knox one bit and yes, it’s very creepy.

Knox didn’t seem especially emotionally stable from the start - why else the multiple encounters with men, the drugs, the weak-charactered, knife obsessed, manga porn boyfriend, etc. The result was she took part in the brutal murder and assault of a young woman. Now she has to come to terms with the consequences and admit the truth to herself. This can’t help her.

I had no idea this man had a wife and five kids. That is troubling. Good lord.

It is shameful indeed. And ridiculous. Damaging for his family, Meredith’s, probably his career, and even Amanda.

I believe Italians will laugh at him, mostly. They are very much down to earth when dealing with desire, attraction etc… and certainly will find this pretty sick. Upsetting for his family too…

Lilly says it clearly. Yes he is obsessed with her and he would not be the first to be in that situation.

Since he is one of the few people who have visits rights, (I suspect he uses his position and power as a politician to get close to her) why not take advantage of the situation and make a few $ writing a book full of Amanda’s bull?

In the clip below one can sense that the guy has something for her (note the sweet smile on his face) especially through his comments which I find obvious and rather inappropriate:

“I intend to leave the judicial question outside of my relationship with Amanda, I hope that one day I will be there to get her and to take her some place”.

I am not sure the translation is accurate but what a sickening comment that is.

So tell me Girlanda, you really don’t care whether or not she is a murderer but you feel for the girl, right?

If she is released I wouldn’t be surprised if these two make it together for the rest of their lives. Happily ever after…

Don’t you feel the way he is handling the book is weird? Like he was actually handling a small version of Amanda in his hand. Disgusting…

On the postcard we can see, written in Amanda’s childish handwriting I could grasp “we should go on a camping trip together one day”... I assume it is something she sent or gave him ... She is charming him, of course, and the fool is already dreaming of his shining armor hanging at a tree next to the tent…

Great article Peter.

May I add that I find it interesting about Parliamentarian Girlanda having two daughters nearly the same age as the unanimously convicted murderess Knox in his Family.

So, he now joins the sad sick “Fraternity of Fathers” who as a result of their daughter’s ages feel necessary to make complete fools of themselves in public.

Superior Court Judge Heavey’s self induced immolation, professional Committee admonishment, and resultant peer ridicule supposedly was because of daughter age affinity with Knox.

Charlatan, carnival barker, dog and pony production prime subject, Steve Moore’s closely aged daughter is just another “Fraternity member” worthy of mention.

Steve’s TV producer’s ‘cutsey wootsey’ Oprah wanna-bee human interest injections into his appearances about his wife’s gullibility and influence on him as well as his daughter’s future domicile with Knox are perfect examples of how to make a fool of yourself in front of the world.

Not satisfied with this public display of ill advised idiocy, Steve then even gets himself fired and puts his family’s financial future in self described peril for yet more actions stimulated by this ‘same aged daughter’ syndrome.

Finally, the actual birth father of the convicted murderess daughter himself,  shows his diminishing grasp of reality with his unbelievable praise of the latest *perverted* Fraternity member, Girlanda’s ‘relations’ with his daughter

Guess all of us who ..do not have similar aged daughters.. have at least some beneficial learning of what not to be from Heavey, Moore, and now Girlanda

All these middle-aged men who merely use the fact that they have daughters Amanda`s age as an excuse to dream their perverted fantasies are becoming total laughing stocks in the eyes of the world, just as you say. And it´s also true that they are doing Amanda no good at all , their ill-advised attentions and flattery to a woman who has difficutlies distinguishing between reality and imagination anyway have probably blown up her ego so far that the discrepany with the actuality of her situation will be even more striking and traumatic once she relises that she is in prison and will not be comimg out in a long time. That´s another reason I like TJMK , it´s a splash of cold hard reality in the face of a deceitful ,self-deluding world.

From what we have seen so far of this man and his book in the media, it gives more weight to a calling for legislation to be put in place in order to protect the victim in terrible crimes such as the murder of Meredith Kercher.

It is patently obvious the victim of the terrible crime is forgotten in this book and amongst other things (like profit) this mans book only serves to beautify a person who in a frenzy stabbed her housemate to death.
Mrs Kercher is on record as saying it is “odd”.
A good choice of word there Mrs Kercher.

I myself find it shocking and disturbing to say the least.

It quite simple should not happen that a politician be able to produce a book such as this, it is an abuse of power and clearly an abuse of the victim in this crime, the dead girl Meredith Kercher.

R.I.P. Meredith Kercher.

We have always wanted a mentally stable Knox to make her way through the appeals and to break in the sense of telling all she knows - not break in the sense of going terminally haywire.

knox described things on the night of Meredith’s death that would not have been known to anyone who wasnt there. So she was unquestionably there.

If her parents initiated this book (and the Lifetime move) they may end up looking guilty of a lot more than bad parenting.

Knox seemingly lived through a seeming hell up to the age of 10 (her parents reported nuclear war of a short marriage and then Curt Knox not paying child support except when courts forced him to for years - classy to take your anger out on your own kids, Curt) at which point she was being reported as quirky, acting up oddly, and headed for drugs.

Good parenting would have had her sent off to treatment and rehab instead of Perugia. Then Meredith would still be alive.

We believe the Knox parents are mindful of what happened after OJ was found not guilty. He was sued for liability by the parents of the male victim - and they won with an award of many millions.

Right now the Knox parents look increasingly vulnerable to massive liability suits - and in the US those suits do not need to come from the victim’s family.

Seems the parents would be well served to get a grip on this exploitation of Meredith’s death before someone sails through this window of opportunity.

First of all, I thank Peter and all of you for your gathering information about the murder of a young promising woman, Meredith Kercher.  From the beginning to the present, Amanda Knox continues to perplex me.  I have heard her described as a psychopath, or in the current term, sociopath.

Ever curious about these terms, I came across an article in the New Yorker, September 6 2010, titled Mind Game by Carl Elliot.  (Unfortunately, I do not think you can access this article on line unless your are a subscriber.)

In short, this sentence from a Letter to the Editor describes the case:
What is striking about the case of Colin Bouwer, a psychopathic psychiatrist who was once the head of psychiatry at the University of Otago Medical School and is now a convicted murderer, was the man’s ability to fool his colleagues, many of whom would have studied psychopaths in their medical training.

The author of the article writes about a professor of psychiatry at the Medical College of Georgia, Hervey Cleckley, who in 1941 published a book about psychopaths called ‘The Mask of Sanity’.  (The book is out of print but a pdf is available to be downloaded from the internet.)  Cleckley writes about patients in his clinical practice:  ‘successful businessmen and professionals as well as con men, bigamists, and petty thieves-who were friendly, charismatic, and often brilliant at manipulating other people.  Yet alongside the glib charm of these psychopaths was a kind of moral blindness, an apparent incapacity to feel moral sentiments such as guilt and empathy.  Cleckley marvelled at the psychological ease with which psychopaths lied, cheated and betrayed their friends and family.’

I have read Cleckley’s Section One-An Outline of the Problem and a few of the cases in Section Two-The Material.  (The pdfs is 485 pages.)  He discusses many of the thoughts and observations I have read in all of your posts.  The most compelling, if I understand fully, is the difficulty of medicine to define this condition and for the law to prosecute such individuals.

‘The Mask of Sanity’ cannot prevail here!

Per the West Seattle Herald, on Oct. 16 yet another Amanda Defence Fund-raiser was held, this time at the Shadowland (a fairly new club). A smiling Edda was in attendance, but the article points up that the K.M.s had no part in organising the event. It was “held” by one Al Semple (let me guess: he has a daughter amanda’s age?) and friend, Julie Rogers. The photo at bottom shows attendee Katie Rodal who won a spa gift certificate donated by ENVY on Alki Skin Boutique.
ENVY. Isn’t that what started this whole sad affair?

Thank you for another very interesting articel, Peter. I disagree, however, as to Amanda being fragile. This is a woman who is incapable of having any empathy, unable to show any consideration for anyone’s feelings, be it murder or bursting into song, at inappropriate time. There is no fragility that I can see. A liar, a manipulator, and completely self absorbed. She is an act, a * why don’t they believe me* whinger. I think she’s as tough as boots, and a con. IMO, of course.

“if Curt Knox and Edda Mellas take the notion of kind parenting seriously”

All they ever took into consideration was and is their own interest. Amanda is a perfectly logical consequence of their “parenting and care”.
