RIP Meredith Susanna Cara Kercher 28 December 1985 - 1 November 2007

Posted by KrissyG

My tribute first posted here in 2015…

It was a gloriously sunny early summer’s day. I stepped out of the tube onto Tooting Broadway, with throngs of shoppers overflowing the pavements and schoolchildren milling around the bus stops in groups.

Now here at last, in Croydon Cemetery, fifteen bus stops later, I found Meredith’s grave, startling in its unexpectedness, after walking for quite a while, hopeless at following directions, having originally gone to the wrong graveyard altogether, the day before.

My heart pounded as her name suddenly leapt out at me.

The burial site is beautifully maintained, with miniature pink and red rose bushes and set in the peaceful landscaped grounds, with evergreens and lawns.

I stood for a while overcome with emotion, quite alone, with nobody in sight all around.  I said a few prayers, including one pleading that Meredith’s murderers be brought to justice.  I quietly sang Psalm 23 and pondered how this beautiful, funny, bright young student had lived a life that was all too short.

A feeling of pain - for her mother Arline and father John, and Stephanie, Lyle and John and for all her family and friends - contracted like a taut elastic band across my chest.

I recalled how at her funeral service at St John the Baptist Church many of the mourners, including sister Stephanie and friends from Leeds Uni had carried a single white rose each.

Stephanie read out a poem she wrote, ” Don’t Say Goodbye”.  Her old school friends sang as a choir the requiem,  In Paradisum.  Two hymns sung at the service, on 14th December 2007, were “˜Abide with me” and “For the Beauty of the Earth”.

Meredith’s favourite record “With or without you” by U2 was played.

As I sat on a creaky bench nearby under the shade of a gnarled old tree, I scribbled down the following lines:

I came to pay my respects
    To Meredith Kercher so dear
    To all who knew her.
    Go gently into that night
Enforced on you by the evil,
Those who walk in the darkness,
And you were in their path.
    Your light shines
And the dark has not overcome it.

I write this article to reflect that this is about Meredith Kercher and her family and friends, and to reclaim the memory of her purity from the soiled agenda of the ex-defendants and the cruel IIP and FOA stalkers.

Stephanie Kercher had said, in response to Knox’s demand, on the launch of her “memoir”, that she be taken to visit Meredith’s grave, that Stephanie and her family just want a safe place for Meredith to rest in peace.

I cast my mind back to the news reports that broke in November 2013 that Raffaele Sollecito had nevertheless paid a “secret visit” to the spot.  He had been in London in March 2013.  He had the grace not to include pictures of the grave on his “London” Facebook page that he may have taken.

Newspaper reports reveal he was taken there by an “English friend” and left no flowers.  The “friend” who was quick to betray Sollecito’s “secret” is speculated to be one Nigel Scott, ex-Lib Dem Councillor in Haringey, and a purported member of the Injustice in Perugia advisory board, the rather grand name of a lobby of aggressive pro-Knox advocates.

Scott put up a picture of the grave in a tweet ““ hastily taken down ““ as the news broke.  He disparagingly refers to the grave as being in “poor condition”, with a temporary headstone marker.

His co-campaigner, Karen Pruett, maintains a Find A Grave webpage for Meredith and was forced by demand from enraged supporters of Meredith Kercher’s family to take down the picture of Meredith’s grave, most probably taken from the Daily Mail.

Notorious FOA poster Lyn Duncan - who tweets under the name of @Annella - and others, left “tributes” after the acquittal, despite one of their party, Doug Bremner Jr, having referred to the Kerchers as “Nazis” and another mocking Meredith’s grave lacking a headstone as late as 2011, when Knox was first acquitted by Hellmann, as shown in the Daily Mail.

Time has shown how Scott’s, Pruett’s and other Knox chums’ characters speak for themselves.

Meredith’s final resting place is beautiful, in a quietly understated way.  The grave adjacent is of a Liverpool supporter aged 22,  who died around about the same time as Mez, who was 21.  It is very poignant to see.

Meredith’s headstone is fashioned out of marble and reads, ” We will always love you MEREDITH SUSANNA CARA KERCHER 28th Dec. 1985 ““ 1st Nov. 2007 Forever in our thoughts, always in our hearts.”

The temporary marker, so much derided by Knox’ supporters, remains at the foot.  I left some Sweet Williams in a flower container and slowly walked away, moved and changed by the visit.

Knox’s first advice column in the free local West Seattle paper her husband’s family owns - the first US paper back in 2008 to carry barbaric defamations of the Perugia prosecutors, decried even by Knox’s own lawyers - was seemingly timed to coincide with this sad day.

Now Barbie Nadeau in this link the Machine drew attention to reports that this misleading statement appeared in and then disappeared from the Westside Herald (“That post has since been removed from the site”).

https://www.thedailybeast.com/amanda-knox-to-pen-advice-column-on-life-love-and-suffering-on-anniversary-of-meredith-kerchers-murder

“Amanda Knox spent four years in an Italian prison for a murder she didn’t commit and it’s given her a unique perspective on life. Now fully exonerated, this bestselling author and advocate for criminal justice reform offers her insights, such as they are, to reader questions about life, love, suffering, and meaning.”

Knox of course was NOT exonerated. Her “bestselling” book contains 500+ lies. And three of those years in prison were rightly served, for the framing of Patrick for murder. She STILL owes him $100,000.

More & more the US media are pushing back. We should soon facilitate their complete reversal, West Seattle papers possibly excluded.

From a poem by John O’Donohue, who tragically died only a couple months after Meredith:

“Your love was like the dawn
Brightening over our lives
Awakening beneath the dark
A further adventure of colour.

The sound of your voice
Found for us
A new music
That brightened everything.

Whatever you enfolded in your gaze
Quickened in the joy of its being;
You placed smiles like flowers
On the altar of the heart.
Your mind always sparkled
With wonder at things.

Though your days here were brief,
Your spirit was live, awake, complete.”

Meredith Kercher RIP.
Gone too soon.
Forever missed.
Forever loved.

Think about it.  WSH is a freebie (in other words mainly advertising spam that arrives unwelcome through your letter box).  It is run by Chris Robinson’s family.  The ‘news’ his wife has a job as an agony aunt at WSH is so FAKE.  This is clearly a press release from Knox and Robinson themselves to try to keep her in the news as being somehow relevant.

The late Morty Toad who lived in Seattle described the West Seattle Herald as being considered somewhat of a low quality joke by the local population.

The timing of the announcement is questionable.

Robinson is the grandson of the late Seattle newspaper magnate Gerry Robinson. The Robinson Group of newspapers is still in the control of the Robinson family with cousin, Ken, in charge.

Ken Robinson clashed with Perugia prosecutor Mignini during Knox’ trial, who threatened to sue him for his anti-prosecution comments in his newspapers. Amanda Knox was given a column in West Seattle Herald after her release.

She met Chris Robinson whilst he was promoting his novel ‘War of the Encyclopaedists’, co-written with Gavin Kovite. Knox attended the reading at the bookshop where she worked part-time, with her then fake fiancé Colin ‘Thunderstrike’ Sutherland. Sutherland has never commented on the split.

Chris Robinson is a self-styled ‘Millenial Hipster’.”

Ohhhh, KrissyG how beautiful, how beautiful your tribute to Meredith is. Her sweetness and your sensitive respect at your first visit to her grave in 2015, the truth only grows stronger with time. Thanks for remembrances of the song she loved “With or Without You” which symbolizes her separate road in life, and her independence and courage. Thanks for recalling the funeral music, “Abide with Me” (so sad that song) but also “For the beauty of the earth” which Meredith enjoyed on her trips to the Lake District and Brighton, and her first visits to Italy with her family.

And thank you for writing your gorgeous poem that honors Meredith’s light in life. It says so much in so few lines.

Thank you for praying over Meredith’s grave when you did, and placing fresh flowers there, and singing Psalm 23 for her. From it, appropriate for Meredith: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I SHALL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER.”

Earthling, thank you for sharing the beautiful poem by John O’Donohue, it is just lovely and describes Meredith so well.

The beautiful monument the Kerchers have chosen with Meredith’s full name and dates of birth and death and their ongoing love for her carved into stone, is perfect.

The whole story about Amanda Knox having an advice column for the Westside Seattle is a PR stunt on behalf of her father-in-law and his family who run an obscure failing newspaper in West Seattle that is on its last legs. She has a narcissistic personality disorder and wants to insert herself into the public eye because she has a pathological need for attention.

The Robinson family are not even remotely concerned about the wellbeing of people in West Seattle who might need advice to help them make their lives better. Just like Malcolm Gladwell, they are cynically using Amanda Knox’s name to generate publicity for their product. You don’t even have to work in advertising, marketing or sales to see through this transparent marketing ruse.

Amanda Knox will be back in the news soon no doubt crying crocodile tears and speaking in her contrived Larry the Lamb voice in front of a room full of gullible dupes dabbing their moist eyes with tissues at another Innocence Project event. She’ll be trying hard not to smile at the thought of making thousands of dollars from telling fairytales to adults.

@TheMachine If it wasn’t potentially damaging it would be the epitome of irony.

A girl who has a tin ear by her own admission, who is confused to the point of hallucinating, who has no recollection of what she did yesterday, who thinks an accusation is a confession, who relentlessly references murder with innumerable examples. (Mr. Screams, Zombie, the Countess Lovelace etc ad nauseam….).

A girl who demands compensation for ‘wrongdoing’ against her but defies the court when asked to compensate PL. A girl who defiantly disseminates falsehoods, that she is an exoneree. An immature and obtuse plank of wood who thinks murder is bleurgh and yucky.

A girl who cannot feign empathy “I only knew her for a month”. Psychotherapist? Psycho the rapist.

It is an affront to witness this juggernaut of greed and manipulation ploughing through reason and wisdom.

HI Pensky,

It’s good to see you and Earthling on TJMK after quite a long time. I agree with everything you said.

Amanda Knox didn’t have a bad day at the office when she, Sollecito and Guede killed Meredith. It wasn’t a perfect storm of unfortunate circumstances as Judge Massei claimed. She is evil - she’s a cruel and sadistic sex killer who inflicted as much physical and emotional pain on Meredith as she possibly could before wiping her from existence.

She and Sollecito are not normal human beings. They walked round the cottage in bare feet tracking Meredith’s blood into different rooms whilst they were cleaning up visible traces of themselves. It’s a ghastly image. Only psychopaths could commit such a horrific and exceptionally brutal murder and carry on as if nothing had happened.

Knox tried to frame an innocent man for rape and murder. Another heinous crime born out of spite and vindictiveness for some minor or perceived slight.

It’s beyond obscene that Amanda Knox has literally made millions from killing Meredith and is regarded as a victim of a miscarriage of justice and lauded as a champion for the wrongfully imprisoned - which is ironic seeing as Diya Lumumba was wrongfully imprisoned because of her.

Knox and Sollecito have got away with murder, but I’ll always challenge those who publicly support her e.g Malcolm Gladwell and Doug Preston. I hope others do the same. The fight isn’t over and there are media campaigns to free Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey, Adnan Syed and Jeremy Bamber from prison.

It’s been heartening to see countless people making informed comments about the case on the Internet. They’ve obviously read the official court reports and haven’t been fooled by the PR campaign.

It was also heartening to see the angry backlash against Amanda Knox after it was announced she was going to write an advice column for the Westside Seattle.

Katie Herzog - a staff writer for The Stranger who thinks Knox is innocent - can’t understand why so many people think she’s guilty. If she actually bothered to read the official court reports instead of blindly supporting the hometown girl, she would know.

The Innocence Project needs to be exposed for what it is - a corrupt organisation that supports sex killers and child rapists. It seeks to overturn convictions to get large state payouts.

Ask Amanda advice column.

“Dear Amanda, I hate my roommate. How can I off her like you did but avoid meltdown in police custody?”

According to Follain’s book, which covers the Massei trial and the events leading up to it, Mignini is quoted as testifying that Knox was, narcissistic, unusually aggressive and transgressive.  She had little empathy towards others.

I am assuming these come from a psychologists’ report, which, of course, is kept confidential outside of court.

We see this lack of empathy extended to: dumping Uncle Uwe and his intern job, her supporters, turned her back on Sollecito when her begged for a US green card via a marriage of convenience, left a party arranged by Friends of Amanda Knox for her after just a few minutes, dumped Mad Paxton, James, Colin, ghosted Bruce Fisher, called her sister less bright than herself in her then column at WSH and was perceived as ‘stuck up’ and aloof in prison, by all accounts.  Not to mention her latest fake wedding crowd funding scam.

So Knox is offering to give others advice when empathy is the least of her assets?

Maybe that’s her ‘transgressive’ side coming out.

Posted by KrissyG on 11/06/19 at 02:03 PM | #

@KrissyG, I hadn’t heard about Knox leaving the FOA party after just a few minutes? Wow, what a thank you to her supporters but it sounds typical. In prison with nothing to do she answered few letters from fans. Her disrespect for Uncle Uwe who got her a good job in Germany, was a red flag. Aggressive, transgressive, narcissistic—sums it up.

Could we look at her behavior as being motivated by sheer greed for money?

She might have envied Laura and Filomena their nice jobs in law offices.

She looked at lovely Meredith and saw an Erasmus scholar with money to go to school, no miserable job to have to work.

She knew Meredith would succeed.

She might have thought that Meredith’s family was doing better financially than her own, not realizing all the facts.

Her chase for money: She linked up with Raffaele whose family had money. Her endgame was to decimate that. Her first cruel joke at UW was about STEALING. She may have taken Meredith’s rent money.

Then she wrote her book for money, went on TV and even Irish news programs, speeches, conventions, interviews or anywhere a dollar was floated her way. She latched on to the son of a newspaper publisher, a young man who already had success marketing his own book. She felt she had a way in with media through Chris Robinson.

In some convoluted financial plan she and Chris have bought a house with his writing partner and wife, the Kovites.

Her dad’s an accountant, her mom’s a numbers person who teaches math. Maybe money is the driving force for Amanda.

Possibly it was envy of Meredith and the others around her with “perceived” stronger families, better futures and deeper pockets that unhinged her.

She reacted in anger to seeing herself as the poor one, the loser.

Feeling hopeless and not wanting to return home broke, she lost all self-control. A mental panic took over or some hysteria which she tried to suppress with alcohol and drugs.

“The love of money is the root of (all kinds of) evil.”

Perhaps as early as Perugia she was secretly trying to cause some kind of accident that might end in a lawsuit for gain. If a fire engulfs her house, look for arson.

She might not have realized any of these motives consciously, but don’t put anything past her.

Her lying will increase and the madness continue. It’s only going to grow worse.

@KrissyG—your list of the long trail of red flags makes it frighteningly clear that Knox is a human mine field with little empathy.

The really ugly thing is how she kicked Raf to the curb when he needed a green card to escape Italy, after he had crucified himself to help conceal her crime (his own, too, but no doubt she led him into it?). Raffaele had tossed his entire family’s money in the Tiber or Lake Trasimento or where ever for her sake.

Although I understand she was “once burnt, twice shy” in relating with Raffaele she really did owe him an escape to start a new life in the States after she made him a pariah in Italy. She was probably afraid of payback from him, revenge.

Knox couldn’t care less about the disaster she caused Dr. Sollecito or his son. Do you recall that she had the audacity after the murder to claim she wanted to see Mr. Kercher and talk with him? She thought she could charm him since he was a man, but knew Arline and Stefanie would see right through her; can you imagine the vacuity?

She will only give bad advice.

Who in his right mind would ask her for wise counsel?

Hi Hopeful

Great pleas for advice! I hope you send them all in.

Knox is finally getting less and less paid gigs, and even the suckered Robinsons may demand she pulls her weight…

Re Machine’s remark on 11/05/19 at 06:53 AM: “It wasn’t a perfect storm of unfortunate circumstances as Judge Massei claimed. She is evil…”

Also re KrissyG’s remark on 11/07/19 at 09:53 AM “Mignini is quoted as testifying that Knox was, narcissistic, unusually aggressive and transgressive.  She had little empathy towards others. *****

Yes, this is how many see her now though there will always be more to be learned - you can bet your sweet patooties that Curt Knox will never, never let her “on the couch” for fear she could spill all the beans. Some additional points:

First, our excellent posting psychologist, Seeking Understanding, warned long ago that Knox can be expected to “evolve” and have more and more of a PTSD-type problem distinguishing past reality over time. Treatment might once have helped, but not this late in the day, and anyway would confirm her guilt.

Second, in the first few days after Meredith’s death, Dr Mignini’s provisional take was that Knox could be in part mental and in part on a bad cocaine trip (her telling “cat pee” smell). Remember, he witnessed THREE of Knox’s four conniptions: the one at the “Miranda” session ending at 5:45 am on 6 Nov, the one a couple of days earlier in the kitchen of the house; and the one which wrapped up the 17 Nov 2007 interview.

Third, yes, there were indeed psychological tests of AK and RS, in the very early days. Conclusions were kept confidential (so as not to sway the verdict). But three courts (guiding magistrates) did get to see them: Matteini in Perugia, the Ricciarelli panel in Perugia, and the Gemelli panel in Rome. Not one of them would agree to the defenses’ request to move the two to house arrest - which of course watching Italy naturally picked up on. (These were JUDGES and not the supposed inflammatory tabloids of course.)

http://truejustice.org/ee/index.php/tjmk/comments/the_knox_interrogation_hoax_13_first_hurdles

http://truejustice.org/ee/index.php/tjmk/comments/the_knox_interrogation_hoax_16

Fourth, obvious to us very early on, and as described in Knox’s book, Dr Mignini had to be quite deliberately demonized by Curt Knox’s PR and by Preston and Heavey (and later Ciolino) in large part to back Knox herself away from confessing all to Dr Mignini with whom she was quite chummy early on.

Fifth, by mid trial both the prosecutors and Patrick’s lawyer (Pacelli) and even Sollecito’s lawyers were seeing Knox as you both describe. This perception was confirmed in spades - to all of watching Italy - when a barbaric Knox took the stand.

Note how, well, never do the Knox apologists even mention even one of these points? Why exactly is that?!
