Trail: TGCOM Reports On The First Of Edda Mellas’s Testimony

Posted by Peter Quennell

Click above for the report in Italian. A quick translation of the first testimony of Mrs Mellas:

After the murder of Meredith Kercher, Amanda Knox never thought of leaving Italy. So said the mother of the young American, Edda Mellas, testifying before the Court of Assizes of Perugia.

The woman is responding assisted by an interpreter. She reported that her daughter had a good relationship with Meredith and the other flatmates…

Edda Mellas spoke of the conversation with Amanda in prison November 10. “She was feeling badly for the fact that Patrick had been dragged into this brutal story,” she explained. “She felt badly for having advanced the name of Patrick”...

Comments

I guess this is the best place to add this comment.

Amanda’s mother keeps saying that her daughter got along well with Meredith and roomates. But the lady who heard screaming the fatidic night also said that at the beginning, she would see Amanda and Meredith going together at school, while at the end they were ignoring each other and walked separately.

As stated by Amanda, “after all, they only knew each other for a month”. The enthusiasm of the first days and parties together worn out. It can happen. Maybe Amanda did not say nothing to her mother because she probably did not want to have to explain what had caused this new situation.

But then, as I mentioned in another post, do we know if Meredith answered these numerous Amanda’s calls two days before her death? If she did not… she did not want to. Why this insistance?
