The next post will be the Machine’s fourth in his meticulous and much-read series on the case for the prosecution.

One of those most dedicated to Meredith’s cause, Machine was thrown for a real loop last week, when it turned out the Greek village he was vacationing in had no internet access at all.

Can we get upsdates on the suspects’ psychological states?

Hi LReik. Interest in this area and our own posting on it will certainly build if either of the defendants is found guilty.

Tests were done on the defendants and Rudy Guede in the phase of the hearings, and the judges who read them (they have not been made public) were pretty adamant that no bail or house arrest should be allowed,

Despite those broad hints, neither of the two defense teams has opened the door to a possible psychological defense. It is probably too late in the day now to switch tracks in that direction which would involve some variation of “okay I actually did play a role in causing Meredith’s death but I am sorry and there were these mitigating factors…”

The psychologist Miss Represented who also posts here on TJMK posted on her own website an extraordinary series of informed conjectures from a professional point of view, and they are worth reading from the beginning. M-R is on her own summer break now and so the chat there is relatively quiet.

There have been no recent reports out of Italy on how the defendants are making out in their respective prisons these days, but we rarely go as much as a month without some sort of report appearing in Italian.

By the standards of US and UK reporting on other crimes, the Italian reporting on this case has always seemed to us pretty restrained and we have seen none of the demonization that supporters of the defendants regularly claim. Frankly, it just ain’t happening.

I think there were no doubt many times like this - sharing real love with friends - which neither Knox nor Sollecito could get theirs hands acround. 

It must have been extremely disturbing to be reminded of that void in their own lives when witnessing the beauty of it every day in Meredith’s.
