For remembrance of Meredith’s birthday this saturday, a meditative post by SeekingUnderstanding will go live tomorrow. Many people are thinking of her family.
Thank you SeekingUnderstanding.
Best wishes to Meredith’s family on her approaching birthday.
I was moved by the brave - and obviously intelligent/high-spirited young woman in the middle (grainy!) video. “Free embraces”! Wonderful! I can just see Meredith doing something like that and it’s absolutely typical of the natural exuberance of the young. Not unlike San Francisco (or Notting Hill in my case) circa 1968!
I may have been a bit negative about family dynamics in the past but the Kerchers’ have always shown an absolutely amazing dignity in the face of tragic loss. I really can’t begin to fathom how I would cope with a similar situation after all these years.
Clearly families can be wonderful places in which to raise kids or, unfortunately, just about the worst possible places. The difference seems to lie in the attitude/evolution of the parents/carers.
The Kerchers really are showing that when it works it’s unbeatable. Obviously, comparisons with other families are odious.
True Justice for Meredith Kercher
She felt the pull of the end it was a foreign horror. A cold and lonely hour, a wasted benighted bearer.“From out the heat of hell I stab at you;†they blend with each other as they pulled her down “And to my own self being true I spit this breath at you.â€And so her life flowing out she began to drown. Did she think of home as life ebbed away?clinging to the blest spirit driving on, the essence of truth aflame with all the possibilities of life. These secrets keep by the young in play, long forgotten make believe, a young tree raised above the climbing vine.
(Their changing the guard at Buckingham Palace, And Christopher Robin’s gone down with Alice.)
The joy of life those wondrous times she left behind. The family visits, forest ways the villages, the Downs-(Ashdown where the Deer run wild over forest brays-you will find Pooh bear is happiest living there-Yields of resplendent honey in the bee-loud glades -Winnie-the-Pooh coming over the High Weald. To meet you on the sandy ridge where the sheep can safely graze)
It rends the heart still that she will not return. From the enemy that mocks its own designs pride, envy, hate, the things it feeds upon. Eloquent is the real wind that speaks her name honouring this friend who has passed on, dark haired girl of the doomed beauty; Never again will we see you in your loveliness, your virtue as strong as your passions. When you were young and still had fairyland where did you build your first play home, that bower of fiddle curled royal fern? The leafiest hiding-place delicate as wafted jasmine scent before the folds of the dress of the hills marked by the course of secret rivulets? Sister and brother climbing the ridge to hide, or seek among cosseted bluebells in the shade in the places known only to an intimate. Beware the goblins on Wilderness brae they hide behind the tall trees marching round the glade, a tree and truth the only things that keep their youth, where the shapes are taller than a child and the slopes are kindlier to little legs.
You could have been safe anywhere along the ancient paths, safe from the day of wrath, grace handed girl of the doomed beauty, much loved daughter of a family who could not tell of the evil to come——you could have been safe, but you went far from here. Destiny had its plans, its cruelties and lies, its casualties and just demands. Her song has been known now these past years-it rends the heart still, every time I hear- The wind and rain toss the cosseted bluebells and fern, water cascades as the tree tops shake their heads at turbulent burns. The Wood is waiting for Meredith who will not return.
The season has come round again deep green, mist veiled. Pale winter shades the beneficence of flower beds, on the hallowed green parks that guard your rest-north west Croydon back onto the Mitcham road. But sleep in peace for the morning comes- greater yet than any morning that has ever been; each whose heart is known will meet again, when judgment is given according to their ways. And so it was prophesied-God love us, so it was- the day comes when there be no need of death. Until that time of eternal justice on the earth, we bear the burden and grieve the loss of her, this Christmas day, and every day hereafter. May God aid your rest and bless you Meredith.
I also wish the Kerchers all the best and at least a positive outcome to this tragedy, if not a happy one.
-Off topic warning-
Pete, there was a teaser comment about two weeks ago announcing an article about a neglected clue that we’re supposed to have missed so far. When is it going to be published?
Hi Xarta
