Why It Will Be Republic Of Italy v Knox And Sollecito For The Myriad False Claims They Have Made

Posted by Peter Quennell

Bergamo in the foothills of the Alps where the journal Oggi is published

Yesterday’s post quotes some statements that Sollecito has already started winding back.

For Raffaele Sollecito that marks a significant first. Amanda Knox still seems headed the other way, pouring yet more gasoline on the flames.

Yesterday’s post also mentioned the growing pressure the Italian system is asserting to surface and adhere to the truth. When Cassation rules as widely expected, that Knox’s and Sollecito’s appeals did fail in Florence, and off back to prison they must go, Italy probably wont stop there.

It needs a single truth to stand at the end of the day, and in the courts is how its inquiry-based system arrives at that truth. More prison time is probably ruled out, but there should be some big fines. And that truth.

Sollecito wrote those claims quoted yesterday only in English, of course, exclusively for English-speaking audiences. There are no editions in any other language, certainly not Italian.

The only claim of those quoted yesterday that is widely known in Italy is Sollecito’s false charge, challenged on national TV, that the prosecution offered him a deal for his turning on Knox. That was one of his many claims accusing Italian officials of crimes. All his other claims are still sleepers in Italy.

Sollecito’s father Francesco was asked on national Italian TV why the book was not written or published in Italian. He awkwardly replied that no Italian publisher was interested; he didnt name even one that refused.

He didnt explain why it was written on the US west coast with the help of a British-born shadow writer (an unfortunate choice: Gumbel himself seems to have a big chip on his shoulder about Italy after his stay there, like Peter Popham and Nina Burleigh; unusual but it happens).

So, with no Italian version, what passages in what language were those Italian publishers if any shown?

Not much liked in Italy, Sollecito has been trying to burnish his image there since 2008 when he began writing diary-type reports on several websites.

Passages from the book put into Italian by the Republic of Italy for his book trial in Florence could come to irritate many Italians, and really rain on his parade in the months coming up.

Good reporters should perhaps press Knox to release the Italian version of her own book and let Italy have a close look.

It was yanked from publication at the last moment (like the UK version) when the US edition came out. Some excerpts were put into Italian by Oggi. See our own rebuttals here.

Their publication along with some other articles has resulted in both Oggi and Knox facing a trial in Bergamo. The statute of limitations on the entire book itself expires in 2017. If and when Italy targets all of Knox’s malicious claims she could find her parade rained on too.

Both books are available globally in the Kindle edition and so a few English-speaking Italians have read them that way. The only version of Knox’s book that was officially sold in Europe was in German. There’ve been no others so far though a Spanish translation may exist.

None of the other English-language pro-Knox books have been put into Italian either. In fact the only book translated into Italian that takes Italy to task is The Monster of Florence by Spezi and Preston - and that one is quite different (very toned down) from the edition in the UK and US.

Back here on Planet Earth, various objective books on the case have been written and published in Italian, which kinda shoots Francesco’s claim in the foot that there is no interest among publishers there.

Those books are mostly quite classy affairs, carefully researched. All the books (like TJMK) essentially concentrate on explaining the prosecution’s case in depth, and those from late 2009 all saw “case proven” after the Knox and Sollecito lawyers put on an ineffective defense.  There isn’t even one which says Italian officials maybe got it wrong.

The Knox people sued Corriere for damages over the Sarzanini book and in the third round won, but that was only because the book published excerpts from Knox’s prison diaries - which her own people had put around - which invaded the privacy of others she mentioned.

The Sarzanini book is still on sale in Italy and was not ordered withdrawn, so Knox at most won half a loaf via her case.

Our main poster Yummi has at various times pointed out that over 100 prosecutors and judges have been assasinated in the anti-mafia fight.  Hate stirred up in the US for Italian officials is of real concern, because it could have a nut with a gun headed to Italy to “even the score”. Hate messages have been received.

Hate is still being perpetually beamed at the real victim’s suffering family as well. That started way back in 2008. There is zero precedent for that - in fact the US and UK and Italy all have strong anti-harrassment laws.

So Knox and Sollecito, and by extension Sforza and Fischer and Moore and so on, will face put-up-or-shut-up time in court on a whole row of claims which appear to Italy malicious and wrong.

Italy wants a searchlight cast on those.  It is for this reason above all that the book trials will take place. To wind back the hate, and to cast light.

This whole publishing scene (really two parallel publishing scenes) is absolutely unique in the world. It shows in stark terms the cowardice of the “public relations” wave of defamation which Curt Knox brought alive in 2007 and beamed away from Italian speakers.

No wonder Amanda Knox could not bear to head for Florence late last year for her own appeal - or “new trial” as she still seems to suppose. Her team has burned too many boats.

Gee thanks dad for that….

Thanks, Peter.

More news coming out of Italy about Amanda Knox meeting a drug dealer on a train which should make political interference with her extradition very unlikely.

According to this poster on IIP, Aunt Sara Achile = Giulia Bongiorno

Now we know the source of shocks to Amanda Knox. Waiting with bated breath for the next bit of news from Italy.

Hi Ergon

Interesting new moves. The world the paranoids for Knox portrayed has had Mignini and the police taking a very very hard line, so that they could be demonized by Preston, Heavey, Moore, Fischer, Nigel Scott, David Anderson, and on and on.

But t’wasnt so. By typical Italian standards the prosecutors and police took it EASY on Knox and RS throughout, pulled many punches in submitting evidence they knew about (as with drug dealing here), did not handcuff the pair in court or have them sit in the cage, allowed them access to computers and the media in prison, and gave them a big break in Massei’s sentence which lopped five years off for supposed kindly mitigating behavior once Meredith was killed.

Now the paranoids for Knox are meeting the defense lawyer from hell. Bongiorno knows the REAL strength of the case that could have been made against Knox and at minimum believes the attack on Meredith and the cleanup were entirely orchestrated to suit Knox.

It is only a matter of time before Bongiorno lets Knox have it right between the eyes. Knox is toast. Her extreme smug self-serving arrogance brought her down.

“Her extreme smug self-serving arrogance brought her down”

So true…plus the gleams of hatred in her eyes during flashes of anger, and her steely determination to have her own way…whatever, whatever. She won’t be said ‘No’ to.

Note the boast of ‘having any man she wanted’. That equals ‘no one says No to me if it’s what I want’.

Part of what she wanted/ wants is for Sollecito to provide her with an alibi and ‘believe’ she is ‘innocent’, (as the mantra goes).
There will not be forgiveness for saying No to that.

I agree the tension between Bongiorno and her is likely to rise in temperature. B doesn’t take No too well either!

There was a time when I considered that Knox would get pregnant rather than go to Italy and hence Capanne. I now believe otherwise because in her egocentricity she believes that even in that eventual event she can play the victim. As time has gone forward it has become more than apparent that her psychosis has developed into a deep seated rage against those who do not believe her. She cannot understand that her manipulation of events for her entire life has come to naught in some quarters including Sollecito/Bongiorno etc;
I remember Francisco Sollecito saying (And I am paraphrasing here) Quote “If you hadn’t got mixed up with that bitch then this would not have happened.” close quotes.
Therefore it is my belief now that in the unlikely event of Knox getting pregnant she would abort

Peter, I went back to your link to Yesterday’s Post, then to the link under section 2, (author) which sent me to Raf’s old rant on TGCom.

His vicious taunts of Judge Massei had me reeling.  No wonder he tries to backpedal. Quotes from Raf’s rant which he pretends is tongue in cheek:

+ Raf has a house where he can do what the hell he wants

+ Judge Massei “took in full the version of the heroin addicted serial super witness tramp. Come on, Giancarlo, we are still not satisfied. Come on, these two fiancées are cramming our balls!!”

+“Show us some firecrackers!! Go Giancarlo! Come on Giancarlo, do not disappoint us. WTF Giancarlo, Give me five!”

+You weld The Exorcist and Lethal Weapon!! Giancarlo you are my idol!!!!

This is Raf referring to Judge Giancarlo Massei if you can believe it.

Then he had the golden opportunity with his master’s thesis to research a topic of some value but he threw it away. He chose a theme about himself, about social media hits. Why couldn’t he have picked a really worthy topic for his thesis? (vanishing species, geophysics, sealife, butterflies migration, anything except himself).

A positive thesis would have made news and benefited him. Instead he showed nothing but more tunnel vision and flippancy with hauteur.

More recently his aunts have been trying to drown out his insanity and suddenly saying they believe Amanda may be guilty, but that Raffaele is not. Aunt Sarah and Aunt Christi are speaking out.

What the aunts seem to imply is that Dr. Sollecito (I assume he is their natural brother?) is paying all the expenses of Attorney Bongiorno. Raf is not paying a dime so he can shut up.

The aunts seem to be defending their beloved brother and are absolutely steamed at his awful son for ruining the family.

They may feel they have the right to speak up and say anything that might help their dumb nephew whether Raf likes it or not. It may not be that they care to help Raf at all but to help their brother Francesco. His proud foolish son is not paying, it’s their brother’s hard-earned money that is disappearing, money partly inherited from their own mom and dad perhaps. It must gall them to see it wasted on the legal nonsense with mad maestro Raffaele the orchestra director of a futile cacophony, drunk with power who won’t step down burning dad’s fortune.

Probably the aunts grieve for their wounded niece, too, Raffaele’s older sister Vanessa who was firstborn in the family. By his foolish associations if nothing else Raf has destroyed Vanessa’s career. Her earning power is reduced, her security lessened and she unmarried and aging, too. The family is getting poorer and poorer after all the hard work Dr. Sollecito produced for decades healing the sick.

They know Dr. Sollecito loves the boy to distraction and they must once have loved Raf, too. They must be torn in half with suffering.

Now they stand with the good doctor and will speak out plainly to help get his son freed from the anchor which is Amanda Foxclaw Knoxfibber as a duty and favor to their brother. His foolish son does not know what’s best for him and is draining their exhausted brother of finances and they resent it.

They were patient long enough.

Maybe Mara has begged the aunts to make Raffaele see reason or do an end run around him since his father cannot. The aunts are free to speak without danger of losing a son to angry reaction. As a nephew he has already disappointed them.

Maybe Vanessa has secretly asked the aunts to help her daddy with this ball and chain of a son before the stiff necked idiot bleeds the entire medical practice dry and they are forced to sell all the real estate, the boats, the jewels, the antiques, the oil paintings, the stock, (or whatever assets they own) or end by firing the office staff and nurses.

How many more banks will give the doctor loans? Maybe out of love and fealty to his medical profession his friends might, or sympathy for his hapless son.

One of the aunts went on Italian TV and said she thinks Amanda may be guilty.

FOA is upset. They are mad as hornets because of the aunts’ remarks.

Raf has ditched Amanda in Rome doing his little sidestep but he doesn’t want his aunties to put it on a bullhorn.

A plea from Amanda, looking for some help for the next publicity cycle:

Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match.
Find me a find, catch me a catch.
Matchmaker, matchmaker, look through your book
I am not a crook!

Matchmaker, matchmaker, I’ll bring the veil.
You bring the groom, slender and pale.
Bring me a ring, for I’m longing to be
The envy of all on ABC.

For Papa, make him a younger extradition lawyer.
For Mama, make him famous with a big, dower.
For me, well, I wouldn’t holler
If he had an underground shelter.

Matchmaker, matchmaker, this is crass.
But please, please, save my ass!
Night after night, in the dark, I’m alone.
Except for Steve Moore guarding the door, I’m alone.

Amanda, oh Amanda, have I made a match for you.
He’s Joe Starr! He’s young! All right, he’s 62.
But he’s a nice man, a good catch. True? True!
I promise you’ll be happy. And even if you’re not,
There’s more to life than that. Don’t ask me what!

Amanda! I’ve found him! Will you be a lucky bride!
He’s handsome. He’s tall! That is, if you squint your eyes.
But he’s a nice man, a good catch, Right? Right!
You’ve heard Frank has a temper. He’ll beat you every night.
But only when he’s sober- so you’re all right!

Did you think you’d get a prince?
Well I do the best I can.
With a murder conviction coming soon,
Be glad you got a man!

Matchmaker, matchmaker, you know that I’m
Still very young. Please, take your time.
Up to this minute, I’ve misunderstood
That I could get stuck in prison for good.

Dear Dempsey, see that he’s gentle.
Remember, you were also a bride.
It’s not that I’m sentimental.
It’s just that I’m terrified!

Matchmaker, matchmaker, plan me no plan.
But I’m scared to go back to Capanne.
I’m in no rush. maybe I’ve learned
Playing with knives a girl can get burned.

So bring me no ring, groom me no groom,
Find me no find, catch me no catch.
Unless he’s a drugless match!

From time to time I examine the pro knoxii sites Ground Reprot (misspelling on purpose) Just to see if the posters therein can come up with anything original. Simple answer is NO! all they have is screaming innocent and regurgitating nonsense long since proven wrong. This is a good thing because as time goes on they will have to eat crow of course. As to the media blackout in Seattle well that can work two ways. I read with great hilarity comments by such advanced educated people as carloflab, tinkerhog doper et al and it amazed me that there is absolutely nothing original. The only possible exception is that from time to time I am threatened with bodily harm than no less a person than that super sleuth from DC comics Steve Moore who some suggest is a war veteran. Which war I wonder? Bruce Fischer is a joke of course since he has no comeback at all. These people are very brave hiding behind their wife’s and families. Don’t get me started with Curt Knox either who by his actions over he years has proven just how big a coward and a bully he is. I’d love to see him stand up to someone his size and age. Still that, for very obvious reasons won’t happen. I suppose we marking time just waiting for the final result. The Knoxii must have a plan B, but given their immense ego I doubt it. Knox herself of course is absolutely convinced that she is going to get away with it hence her maybe comment to Johnny Yen. which read “Don’t you ever get tired?” Well Amanda NO. and we won’t either because we will keep on going for as long as it takes even if when you go to Capanne you are very old. There is no statute on murder so enjoy your latest high because that’s the only relief you will get.

Thank you very much Grahame. I assure you I will never stop crushing these FOA trolls and their lies and helping you and everyone else here in getting the truth out!

Also I am very happy to see that Radar Online has now published the “new” cocaine connection story:

Thank you to The Barb and Jools for first reporting this from Italy. The truth must be told!

Posted by Johnny Yen on 07/29/14 at 05:37 AM | #

And thank you Mr. Peter Quennell. Once again you accurately predicted that this latest development would happen. And now here it is. This drug thingy is not going to just go away. No way. With the rate that Knox was burning through her cash, it was more than just heavy usage. She was financing the sale of narcotics through an international criminal syndicate and was about to realize a large profit return. Most likely the FBI and the DEA are now looking into that aspect of this case to see if the distribution route extended to the USA. If it did, then they could take her into custody at any moment. Hopefully, they will soon. Thank you again.

I have just watched an old movie called ‘The Mortal Storm’ 1942 or something. It’s about Nazi Germany. The important individual is the father of this family torn apart by Nazi ideology. He is a medical science professor. At one point in his class a student stands up and asks “Does the professor see any difference between Aryan blood and none Aryan blood?” The professor says that in the entire world of medical science no difference between the two has ever been found.
This produces a riot because the students have been told, and believe, that Aryan blood is superior and since that fits with their ideology plus their feelings of inferiority they have to believe this.

This motivation of course was the basis for Nazi propaganda and the suppression of the Jews since the Nazi’s needed someone to blame.
This is the mind set of those who protest Knox innocence of course, because they are caught up in the ideology of their own making. They want to believe Knox is innocent thereby denying their own feelings of inferiority and bolstering their own desire to be superior. As an example take Moore, Fischer, Heavey, Sfarzo, Curt Knox, Chris Mellas and in particular Knox and Sollecito. All failures in their own secret eyes plus the eyes of others. Moore fired from Pepperdine University plus being retired from the FBI (check his age? Fischer bankrupt twice, Heavy forced into retirement. (check his age as well, then check the age of other judges) Never forget, grandiose exhibitions of superiority mask feelings of inferiority. Curt Knox knows this of course hence his exhibitions of anger at the entire world
He lost his job at Macy’s for example.

Then of course there’s Knox herself. She is like Elliot Rodgers who killed six people and injured thirteen others before committing suicide in Isla Vista California on May 23rd of this year. Amanda Knox feels that the world owes her the recognition in her view that she is a star and not just some little drug addict who killed Meredith Kercher. It is not outside the realms of possibility that this mind set contributed to killing Meredith in the first place. This is the basis for her promiscuity “I can have any man I want” plus “I can manipulate anyone including Sollecito” of course who is of the same mind since that has been his modus oporandi from the get go.

There are the usual lies about her being an honor student/artist a la Joseph Gobbles/Jodi Arias of course (If you are going to tell a lie then tell a big one) or her view, which includes the entire group of Knox family and supporters, of ethic superiority and rampant racism. There has never been a single person of color in this at all, with the exception of Rudy Guede and Patrick Lamumba who were only fall guys anyway. Sollecito and Meredith fall into the same category because they are not white therefore inferior.

There is a common thread here Frank Sfarzo’s history of failure is well known of course plus like Curt Knox his anger at the world. All these people are products of a society who feel that entitlement is a right and not something to be earned. They have no comprehension of working towards a goal be it financial or spiritual. Then going back to the movie. The Nazi’s needed the Jews. The Knox supporters need Mignini and the Italian justice system. Anybody and anything rather than face the possibility that Knox is guilty.

Posted by Grahame Rhodes on 07/29/14 at 06:13 PM | #

“...she is a star and not just some little drug addict who killed Meredith Kercher.” Oh, Mr. Rhodes, game set match. Your statement here says it all. Her massive ego drew Raf’s massive ego.

Posted by Hopeful on 07/29/14 at 08:00 PM | #

Small Addendum. If you exclude from Knox the drugs the alcohol the feelings of entitlement, the self image, the ego, the feelings of inferiority and just add to that being brought face to face with Meredith Kercher

Meredith who was highly intelligent, very beautiful and was the life and soul of any party. Someone who was sought after because she was a superior human being who could converse on any subject under the sun and make sense. Who (unlike Knox) was talented on guitar and who had taken away Knox job anyway (because Knox was hopeless at the job which was why Patrick fired her) and let Meredith come face to face her with Knox.

Then add the jealousy the drugs the alcohol and fear over being found out over the money Knox stole, there is no wonder that Knox rage went into overdrive, with the result that she tried to demean and degrade Meredith by forcing a rape upon her using an inferior person (in her eyes) Guede using threats of violence with the two knifes. I believe that when Meredith screamed that was when Knox struck the fatal blow.

Grahame, you’re so Right: “If you exclude from Knox the drugs the alcohol the feelings of entitlement, the self image, the ego, the feelings of inferiority and just add to that being brought face to face with Meredith Kercher”

From Radar:
Knox has yet to comment on the cocaine claims, but Mignini warned, “Amanda knows how to lie very well. She seemed sincere and credible.”
In light of the new evidence, however, he says he does not expect her to change her testimony. “I would be astonished,” he explained. “She had plenty of occasions to tell her truth.”

From MailOnline:
According to reports earlier this month, Italian prosecutors are preparing to use Amanda Knox’s alleged links to the cocaine ring to extradite her to Italy.

I’m glad Mignini said flat out that “Amanda knows how to lie very well.” We all know that already, but it is good to see it stated in a matter of fact way from a credible source. Who would know better than he? I’m also glad that the cocaine ring thing in itself could lead to extradition. Please, anyone, add more fire to the flames - it can never get hot enough for someone so guilty and so manipulative.

Question aside: there are the dealers (or mules?) mentioned in the articles, but wasn’t their also a supplier who visited AK in Perugia? I keep wondering if that is the “uncle” that Kokomani referred to. In any case, AK’s drug involvement was far beyond buying anonymous spinellos in the piazzas ...
