Knox’s Fake Wedding Exposed, Yet Another Fraudulent Scam For Yet More Bloodmoney

Long Post. Click here to go straight to Comments

1. Previous Nine Knox Scams

As far as we can tell, these scams have represented the unemployable Knox’s sole income streams.

    1. 2008 onward, incessant fundraising by Knox-Mellas family in Seattle, on provably false grounds.

    2. 2008 onward, fraud of various US media entities for exclusive access, on provably false grounds.

    3. 2009-11-13-15 $100,000 award to Patrick still not paid despite guilt finding by all courts

    4. 2012 HarperCollins publishers paid Knox up to $4 million for her remarkably dishonest book.

    5. 2012 Robert Barnett paid est $400,000 for marketing Knox’s book understanding Knox told the truth.

    6. 2013 onward fees and costs paid by US Innocence Project for annual talks on provably false grounds.

    7. 2013 onward: hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, who trustingly bought Knox’s dishonest book.

    8. 2013-2019: All groups on this list and some others which paid $10,000 per provably false talk.

    9. 2019 Italian Innocence Project pays fee & travel for dishonest and defamatory talk by Knox.

2. Scam Ten: The Million Dollar Fake Wedding

Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris once famously sang:

‘Was a thousand dollar wedding
Supposed to be held, the other day’

Thousand Dollar Wedding on the gorgeous Grievous Angel album.

Resonant of a typical news headline over recent days, focussed on Knox’ wedding party crowdfunding page, in which she asks the public to donate sums between $10 up to $10,000, themed around space-age food, entertainment, child care, wedding dress and music. For example German newspaper Gala subheader screams:

Amanda Knox wants to get married, but the “angel with the ice-eyes” is missing the necessary cash for it. That’s why she and her fiancé are asking for donations.

Several newspapers quote Knox’ crowdfunding site as explaining that she and her partner, Chris Robinson recently attended the Modena Innocence Project Conference in Italy, and they claim to have used up their wedding funds on that.  Gala writes:

The couple explains that their savings have been used up when traveling to Italy. There Amanda Knox was the guest of the “festivalgiustiziapenale” in Modena, with which the city’s judicial authorities and the “Italy Innocence Project” of the University of Rome want to help innocent convicts. Despite lack of money, they do not want to wait with their wedding.

After criticism for demanding money for their own wedding party, Modena Innocence Project were forced to issue a statement that it paid Knox’ travel, accommodation and other expenses in full as its guest.

Whilst the Innocence Projects have to suspend credulity when persons convicted of serious crimes claim innocence, and take their word largely on trust but maybe backed up with DNA evidence if possible, it must surely cut to the quick to discover that they themselves have been hoaxed by their own ‘innocence guest’.

And it wasn’t Knox herself who came clean.  Barbie Nadeau writing in the Daily Beast  states it was solely her initiative to contact the Modena Innocence Project for their comment.

...with scant time to plan, and no financial backing, we had to spend our wedding funds on this challenging and important journey.” [Knox] The Italy Innocence Project has since confirmed to The Daily Beast and others that they did pay Knox’s airfare and lodging for the conference, as they did for all the guest speakers.

So Knox initially made zero effort to correct the record. Knox has hastily removed the Modena lie from the website. But Knox’s scam actually consists of FOUR new hoaxes.

Hoax #1

Knox had to use their wedding money to go to Modena, Italy.

Knox’s victim, Modena Innocence Project, has now issued a statement denying they made their own guest pay their own way.

Not to mention ‘supporters’ who felt sorry for her and may have forked out to get the trio there.

Hoax #2

Online public records from King County, Washington USA shows Knox and Robinson made an application for marriage 21 November 2018, married 1st December 2018 and the marriage certificate issued 7th December 2018.

This is a public legal document.  So why did Knox lie that the wedding would not be ‘until 29 February in leap year 2020’ and even cheekily gave a number countdown of the days?

This makes the appeal for wedding donations and a failure to mention they were already married worse.

But wait!  It gets even worser…

Hoax #3

Knox claims on the crowdfund page to have been left broke by her trip to Italy, kindly paid for by the Modena Innocence Project.

But how hard up are they really?

In March this year, Knox and ‘Party Rock’ moved into a $700K property on Vashon Island in Wa. USA.

Nice, huh?  According to public tax records it has been bought under a trust of deed together with Christopher Robinson’s co-author, Gavin Kovite and his wife, Molly.  Interestingly, in the Warranty Deed Robinson and Knox are described as ‘a married couple’.

The records show the details of the Deed of Trust between the two couples:

A Deed of Trust is commonly brought out when persons share a property or one party pays a different share than the others.  It means in the event of a sale or bankruptcy, the other parties’ fiscal share is protected.

However, some have less than honest intention and it is a popular way for persons who want to hide their assets from creditors to ‘ring fence’ their property in a deed of trust.

And of course, the Kovites are protecting themselves.

Knox might believe having a deed of trust instead of a straight mortgage will protect her from Patrick Lumumba issuing her with a bankruptcy petition for failing to pay his damages, as ordered by a court of law.

However, if a trust is taken out with this purpose in mind, courts are able to declare the deed of trust a sham.

This is a list of what’s on the public records.  Normally this would be of no interest to anybody.  However, it is surely in the public interest if a person is claiming to be in need of financial help when, in fact, public records appear to indicate otherwise.

Hoax #4

Amanda Knox lists in one of her webpages all of the places the couple have extensively traveled to:  France, Sweden, Germany, Italy, etcetera, etcetera.

Karen Matthews famously spent a few years in jail for claiming her young daughter Shannon had been kidnapped in order to claim a £50K reward for her return.

How different is Knox’ begging for financial support based on misleading claims of being out of pocket, yet buys a share in a $718K house? Yet fails to mention she married eight months ago and the ‘countdown’ to the big wedding on 29 Feb 2020?

In Conclusion

This is without question just another of Knox’s money-making scams. Most people would expect to have their collar seized by the fraud squad.

In The Stranger Knox as usual doesn’t take responsibility for her own actions in misleading readers. She tells the Seattle newspaper:

Since this story started making the rounds, both Knox and Robinson say they’ve received a flood of hatemail, including from people telling Knox she deserves to die.

According to Knox, anyone who disagrees with her behaviour is a ‘hater’ or a dupe of the ‘outrage machine’. Really.

Of course, the very dangerous Knox has stirred massive hate toward Italy and Italians, and there have been a number of incidents in Perugia.

Fine sleuthing Kris. Thanks too, Seattle allies, for great tips.

Any theories on the role of the Kovites here? Are they also living in the house?

Here is seeming co-owner Gavin Kovite on the right.

His wife Molly Kovite hasnt occupied much of our attention so far.

She is a lawyer in Tacoma south of Seattle and a law professor at the UW Tacoma campus.

She would seem to be way too smart to have failed due diligence on Knox.

She surely cant be happy at this development?

I find it hard to believe that all four would be living together in one three-bedroomed house.

Perhaps Kovite is looking after the couple’s money by putting his name to it (just a suggestion as I get the feeling he is an honest upright citizen).

Or maybe he simply gifted or lent the funds but has ring-fenced it as a Deed of Trust so that he will get it all back should things go pear-shaped.

For example, Lumumba’s lawyers putting a charge on Knox’ assets to claim the unpaid damages he is legally entitled to.

He would not be able to touch Kovite’s share unless he could go to court and show the deed of trust was in bad faith designed to deprive a creditor of his rightful money.

I’m still sizing up the very strange ownership arrangement, and whether they point to financial problems - remember the $80 a night room made rentable at her central Seattle address?

Also why Molly Kovite at least is not smelling any rats that we know of. The Kovites seem pretty decent, as Kris says, and could be quite high earners; god forbid they are being taken for a ride, either on this deal or on the facts of the case.

Here are some pre-sale images of the house inside and out. They make the house look large, on Google Earth, it looks smaller, and away from the beach and Puget Sound, and squished in on its plot there.

Google Earth 47°28’21.13"N 122°26’46.70"W

Vashon Island home prices still seem to average well below a million, though there are a few great waterfront homes there. After all, it IS an island, and it’s a quite long and pricey ferry-ride to Seattle downtown.

There seems no direct ferry route to West Seattle where Curt and Edda still live. Maybe they are relieved at that?

A loyal Seattle reader tells us that, yes, there are direct routes from West Seattle to Vashon Island.

When there’s time we’ll add the details he sent here.

Besides, Knox could be on the hook now financially to Sollecito for his silence, as some in Italy believe just happened.

He was sour as a grape for not being invited to Modena. Then Knox makes a long phone call. And then Sollecito appears on Porta a Porta, burbling more happily about her than we have ever seen.

As they say: it’s better to pay up than to wake with a horse’s head in one’s bed….

Shelley Brown Milano is a lawyer with several offices dispersed throughout the US including one in Washington State. She is the owner, or at least the Trust in her name is, of properties including on Vashon and Mercer islands next to Seattle.

The Warranty Deed does not tell us much other than that the property on Glenacres Road, Vashon, is transferred by her to the Kovites and Robinson and Knox (or Mr & Mrs Robinson, as they now are). It does not state the address or the purchase price.

The property is obviously mortgaged to United Wholesale Mortgage, apparently the number 1 mortgage lenders in the US. Confusedly, at least for me, this is referred to as a Trust Deed, whereas here a trust deed is something off the title (behind a veil) and deals with private matters as to the ownership of the equity, as between the co-owners (and perhaps, even, unsecured loans).

Presumably the co-owners are equally responsible for the mortgage repayments. They would certainly be equally liable as far as the mortgage company is concerned but the situation may be regulated differently under the Trust Deed.

Are Mr & Mrs Robinson hoping to pay off the mortgage with their crowdfunding? How serviceable is the mortgage? One remembers the sub-prime mortgage fiasco that led to a global recession. Who could be a guarantor if one was required?

P.S I doubt that Amanda cares to be addressed as Mrs Robinson all that much. The name Amanda Knox is far too marketable.

P.P.S As for Lumumba see my further comment below.

Re Lumumba I have revisited all the judgements, and conclude the following.

First of all I should mention that there are two aspects to these monetary awards. There is damages (to compensate the victim), and then there there are the legal costs of representation on top.

I do not find that Lumumba ever had his damages properly assessed.

Massei liquidated Lumumba’s legal costs for trial purposes at 40,000 euros. As to damages he said that he could not definitively assess this (this would have to be done by another court) but he provisionally assessed damages at 10,000 euros to become immediately enforceable.

The provisional assessment was obviously on the low side.

What we then have through all the other court hearings is Lumumba’s team being awarded all their legal and incidental costs for each of those hearings in which they took part, but I cannot find any revisiting of Massei’s provisional assessment of damages.

When one adds up all the costs awarded for Lumumba’s team (for instance Hellmann awarded over 22,000 euros for the first appeal) one is starting to climb towards that 100,000 euros, but the final figure, even including the provisional damages, still falls short.

If I am right then technically I suppose Lumumba could still apply for his damages to be definitively assessed i.e liquidated, and thus giving him a right of action.

I don’t suppose he has ever contemplated this as he will know that Knox will never willingly pay up anyway. Seemingly the opportunity to do so disappeared with Hellmann’s verdict.

However I would also presume that the State actually paid his legal costs (legal aid) though that would give the State a right of recovery against Knox.

What would be needed first is a liquidated judgement ie a definitive figure, first in Italy. Then he would have to get a similar judgement enforceable in Washington State which could then be converted into an order charging the judgement debt against a property in which Knox had an interest i.e the Vashon Island property. However it is unlikely that he would get an order for sale because of the other interests in the equity. It would have to await an eventual sale.

Knox (or at least her advisors) will have taken all this into account.

Personally I think that the purchase is just a short term profit making venture (rather than keeping assets out of Lumumba’s way) and obviously the profit on a re-sale will increase if the mortgage can be kept going on donations received from the gullible until she eventually “marries” her husband.

Hi James

Very interesting analysis of the house. Trusting people, those Kovites…

The world already saw one notorious Mrs Robinson of course.

She seems to me to get off lightly here… but “we’d like to know a little bit about you for our files”?!

And here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson
Jesus loves you more than you will know
Whoa, whoa, whoa
God bless you, please, Mrs. Robinson
Heaven holds a place for those who pray
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

We’d like to know a little bit about you for our files
We’d like to help you learn to help yourself
Look around you all you see are sympathetic eyes
Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home

Hi James

Fine work on Lumumba, nice if this could be a post so we can point links to it.

On what Lumumba is owed, does the Republic of Italy have a role? It seems odd to have to pay a ton of money in legal fees to get damages the Supreme Court endorsed.

With more lead time Pacelli might have been able to have her nabbed in Modena, her feeling of guilt was never more apparent than it was then.

Failing that, as you show, he doesnt have any easy routes, except to sit back and wait for us to set out the full case (and expose how much Knox and Co leave out such as KrissyG’s 10-point list).

On the date of this Guardian report, Lumumba was living in Krakow in the south of Poland - where Schindler’s List took place, and where a previous pope came from. I guess his wife is from there.

He lost his bar (lovely looking place, though it was down the massif to the east, maybe 300 meters from the courts, whereas the student epicenter is to the west) which would have had some value. In Perugia he could not find alternative work.

Poor guy. Not the only victim of Knox but he sure gets the full psychopathic treatment from her. Knox is possibly convinced to this day that he was about to offer Meredith “her job”.

We may be posting soon on this:

There is a report that a Carabinieri officer in Rome blindfolded an American murder suspect for a few minutes so he could not see the document they were basing their interrogation on.

Apparently a “confession” by the other guy arrested, who was pointing at him.

Then Knox lawyer Ghirga made a truly absurd comparison to Knox, and implied that ECHR had found she too was abused in some way.

The ECHR specifically did not find this, and Knox in fact lost that part of her “appeal”.

Of all her requests the ECHR only met ONE. That she should have had a lawyer “automatically”.

But if ECHR had bothered to read the documents of the case, instead of only Judge Boninsegna, they would have known that even that was wrong.

Knox was not a MURDER SUSPECT then. She had not confessed. She had framed someone else.

No country anywhere automatically awards a lawyer to support that.

Anne Bremner is trying to profit from Meredith’s murder again. She has written a book about the case:

Amanda Knox and Justice in the Age of Judgement

She was in Rome talking about Amanda Knox recently:

“Dan, forensic psychiatrist here. Just returned from Rome. Spoke on a panel there with Anne Bremner about the Amanda Knox matter and high profile cases I’ve done (such as The Barefoot Bandit).  Awake due to jet lag”.

Posted by The Machine on 07/30/19 at 08:46 AM | #

Hi Machine

See below? Anne Bremner’s book is not on sale for another eight months. Publishers do this to perk interest, that’s how we got a post up about Candace Dempsey’s book before it came out.

We could certainly use a good post on the myriad things she got wrong and especially left out. Remember how Wendy Murphy always ran rings around her on CNN. We have been laughing at this self-infatuated claim.

This is the inside story of how Anne Bremner had to call upon all her experience—with Michael Jackson, OJ Simpson, and Mark Kay Letourneau—to save an innocent girl’s life.

It’s not exactly uncommon for people to get married quietly and have the wedding reception later, but then most people don’t try to crowdfund their wedding (and especially not after buying a share in a $700K house).

It’s possible neither of the couples plans on living there, so they might convert it into an Airbnb or rent it long-term. At least I hope that’s what they’re planning to do, because I can’t imagine anyone wanting to live with Knox. Once you see the reptile within, you can’t exactly unsee it.

I do find it strange that the Kovites agreed to enmesh their lives to this extent with “the power couple,” but they’re adults and can decide for themselves. I’m guessing they’re very close with Robinson and feel safe, although they might change their minds once they realize that Knox is the source of all these lies and scams.

Something else crossed my mind, and it’s probably unfair to say it because I don’t know any of these people, but once again Knox managed to weasel her way into a group of fairly decent and successful people.

Kovite and Robinson have done well as writers, after working their way up to a book deal (and might I say this, they didn’t have to kill anyone to get it). They might not be huge, but they probably have a small following and they’ve gotten good reviews.

Knox did not write the book she got paid millions for, and while the money might have been nice, it probably bothers her that her literary attempts have gone unnoticed. Molly is academically and professionally accomplished, as a lawyer and law professor. Knox, well, barely got her first degree.

Do you see where I’m going with this? Molly should stay far away from Knox, even though I don’t think our angel would strike again (it was expensive enough the first time and she’s not getting any younger). But there are many ways you can make someone’s life a living hell, and while Knox is the human equivalent of a blunt knife, she has still managed to wreck some people’s lives and leave others traumatized.

On the subject of Anne Bremner, I have visited Doug Bremner’s website and have found the following.

We presented this week [actually back in 2017] at the XXXVth International Congress on Law and Mental Health, the bi-annual meeting of the International Academy of Law and Mental Health (IALMH), at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, in a panel session “Exonerated: Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito, Ten Years and Many Insights Later.” The panel was chaired by my sister, Anne Bremner, lawyer for Amanda Knox…

Raffaele Sollecito talked about his experiences as a wrongfully accused and the ongoing difficulties in Italy with a judiciary and public that doesn’t accept innocence and wrongful trial.

Sollecito outlined how he had been denied compensation for legal fees and time spent improperly in jail as is his right under Italian law based on a convoluted judgement.

As translated by Sabina Vaccarino Bremner:

“Indeed, in light of the trial data reconstructed by the exonerating verdict regarding the presence of Ms. Knox in via della Pergola number 7 at the time of the homicide, it appears clear that if Mr. Sollecito would have stated immediately, without subsequent contradictions, that the girl had remained far away from him in the hours of the crime, and if he had clearly specified the hour in which she had reached his home as well as the presumably altered or even disturbed conditions in which she found herself in that moment, his position in the trial would certainly have been different. It appears probable that he would not have even been investigated, or even if he had, the precautionary requirements would have been considered unnecessary or less severe, since he would not have been seen to be unforthcoming or dishonest in his statements.”

In other words, if he had just lied and said that Amanda Knox was not with him in his apartment at the time of the murder of Meredith Kercher, and instead said she had gone out that night (they were together in his apartment the entire night) they would have given him the money. Hey, why dontcha just throw the American chick under the bus already, fella! Stop being so stubborn!

The only thing convoluted about the judgement denying Sollecito compensation is Sabina’s translation. See what she (a philosophy student at Columbia University at the time - and presumably related to Doug) is doing? She is suggesting that the verdict exonerated Knox as to her presence in the cottage at the time of the murder, (though this does not marry up with what then follows!).

How far from the truth!

What the Court actually wrote was -

“It does appear clear, in the light of the judicial truth established in the acquittal ruling concerning the indisputable presence of Knox in 7 Via della Pergola at the time of the murder ...”

And then the rest and Sabina’s translation coincide.

And hadn’t Sollecito thrown the American chick under the bus anyway (without an offer of remuneration) in his 2007 statement to the police?

Doug Bremner - for all his qualifications - sure is a weird cookie. It obviously runs in the family. Anne is just the same. Both are self serving narcissistic fantasists and obfuscators. I expect that Anne’s forthcoming book will reflect this fact.

Posted by James Raper on 07/31/19 at 06:13 AM | #

Anne Bremner was instrumental in propagating the PR lies in the mainstream media in the US. She told numerous barefaced lies: Amanda Knox wasn’t provided with an interpreter; she wasn’t given anything to eat or drink; she didn’t accuse Diya Lumumba of murder; she was interrogated for 9 hours overnight; there’s no double jeopardy in Italy; Meredith’s DNA wasn’t on the blade of Sollecito’s kitchen knife and there are only two pieces of evidence against her. Her belief in Amanda Knox’s innocence is based on a pack of lies.

The Italian media have found out that Amanda Knox got married last year:

Hopefully, the story will be picked up by the media in the US and Britain and it will put an end to Amanda Knox’s grubby little scam to fleece gullible dupes.

Here’s the Google translation of an article published on the Umbra24 website:

Amanda Knox collects to pay for her marriage but has already been married since December 2018. The American student, acquitted definitively of the accusation of killing the English roommate Meredith Kercher in Perugia in 2007, recently announced that she had launched a fundraiser to pay for his marriage to boyfriend Christopher Robinson but the weekly ‘Oggi’ has discovered that in reality the two have been married for 9 months. The union would be demonstrated by the wedding certificate published by the weekly. The document can also be consulted online in the archives of King County, the county of which Seattle is the capital, and certifies that the publications were posted on 21 November 2018. According to what has been learned, the wedding was held on 1 December and the certificate of marriage was issued on 7 December. In other words, if things went this way, Amanda and Chris launched the collection to pay for a wedding party that has already taken place

Amanda Knox’s secret is out in the US. Radar has published an article about her getting married last year and still asking for donations to fund her fairytale wedding.

I wonder if the people who have already made donations can get a refund.

Posted by The Machine on 07/31/19 at 01:52 PM | #

Whuuuuuut?  What did I just read? Knox begs for money for a wedding when she’s already had the wedding? And not a civil ceremony but she marked the box “religious” wedding.

And now she and her husband both lie about it.  So yet another official document that nails Knox as a liar. And the house she has bought a share in, perhaps with money donated for the space age themed wedding.

What a mess the Robinsons are making of their finances, and the Kovites entangling their finances in this complicated disaster waiting to happen. Well, Curt Knox is an accountant. Maybe he advised these steps as tax shelters? I appreciate KrissyG’s analysis of this financial move.

Knox just can’t help herself. She had to act out, to pull the wool over the public’s eyes, to do a Liar Liar Pants On Fire hoax on the world, even in the matter of her wedding. Sneaky little fox. Same old Knox. She was laughing all the way to the altar, and her fiance has literally become one with her and joined her ranks as Liar of the Century. What creeps. Both with their hands out for free money on the strength of Knox’s “innocence” and honesty. What a crock. Masters of disguise and duplicity, with the base motive of money at the bottom of it.

The Kovites should take warning and disassociate their finances from these two. Knox probably stole Meredith’s rent money, dated Sollecito for his cash and connections, and now has Robinson trying to use her notoriety to promote his own books and raise his profile. What goes around comes around.

I can’t believe Knox applied for a marriage license in November 2018. November is the month she got into soooooooooooooooo much trouble in Perugia. Not a good omen. She technically tied the knot with Gerald Robinson
in December, but only by a hair:  December 1st, 2018. December was Meredith’s birth month.

Congrats to the happy new Couple. A couple of con artists and shameless liars. Let the world see what Knox is. Does Anne Bremner even care if Knox is lying about getting married to raise money to pocket and spend on kicking up her heels traveling and grinning?

Knox lied about the Modena Innocence convention, pretending she had to pay her own way to speak at the event and sacrificed much for the “truth” to come out, when all the time the Innocence Project of Italy had paid for her transportation to Modena and lodging, as well as for all the speakers. What a gold-plated liar, and now a hubby who doesn’t mind becoming a platinum-plated liar to be her ridiculous bookend. A bookend to hold comic books.

Amanda Knox and her husband should be charged with fraud. They have gained money by lying.

You can report Amanda Knox and her husband for fraud here:

They have obtained money through deception and the police have a duty to enforce the law. Nobody is above the law and that includes Amanda Knox.

She and her husband have swindled thousands of dollars out of people who genuinely believed they were broke and needed funds for their forthcoming wedding.

UK media now.

Hi David B,

The media in Seattle are predictably silent about Amanda Knox being caught in a huge lie.

She clearly committed fraud by asking for donations to fund her fairytale wedding when in reality she was married last December.

Alissa Jackson was sentenced to three years in prison after pretending she had ovarian cancer and receiving more than $50,000.

Amanda Knox is weighing in on the case of the two American teens arrested in the slaying of an Italian cop.

Many are asking me about this case,” she tweeted. “All I can say is: I’m withholding judgment. It should be tried in the court of law, not the court of public opinion. In any case, it’s tragic. My ❤ goes out to the victim’s family.

As distinct from, say, her case, where she was tried and convicted in the court of public opinion….

Amanda Knox is like a vile stench that doesn’t go away and makes you feel sick. Her pathological need to be constantly in the public eye really grates. She’s constantly in the media - posing as Little Red Riding Hood, crying crocodile tears at Innocence Project conferences, babbling on about a lesbian in prison, singing a pro-IRA song on Irish television, inserting herself in the story of the two American who have been arrested on suspicion of murder in Rome, and trying to persuade gullible dupes to make donations to fund her fairytale wedding. Isn’t it obvious to everyone that she is a lunatic? She’s insufferable. The sooner she’s back in prison, the better.

Barbie Nadeau has written an excellent article about Amanda Knox’s grubby little scam for The Daily Beast:

<blockquote>There is nothing wrong with being married at city hall and then later celebrating in a church or with a fabulous party, except when the married couple are trying to raise money by implying the wedding is yet to happen.

On the first incarnation of the wedding registry, which has been amended as the scandal grows, Mr. & Mrs. Knox Robinson set their date as February 29, 2020, which is Leap Day. The site even has a countdown clock to the wedding date.

They do not refer to the event as just a party or celebration, but to their wedding.

The registry site offers the option to donate $100 for a time machine. ‘Fortunately, we found a time traveler’s headquarters (it’s much bigger on the inside) and have received permission to use it,’ they say.

It seems they have already put their time machine to use.<.blockquote>

Thanks for that article.  I don’t suppose the spreading news about the previous marriage will do much to strengthen the bond between them. But then again I don’t think I occupy the same planet as them.

To the insightful comment by Vivianna on 07/30/19 at 08:25 PM I would add that we can probably count the days till the Kovites disappear in a cloud of dust.

Knox’s friendships have always had a short shelf-life at best, going back to UW in Seattle and school.

At the time Meredith was killed, the only two in Perugia who still tolerated her druggie habits, dirt, laziness, and tin ear, were Meredith herself and Sollecito. And Meredith had said sharp words.

The advent of Sollecito put a temporary halt to Knox sleeping with her dealer (well known in Italy but not reported at the time elsewhere).

But he was shocked to find she was maybe only weeks away from leaving Perugia to try to hitch up with a former Seattle boyfriend in China.

James Terrano, the shortlived boyfriend after Knox returned to Seattle… where is he?

BFF Madison Paxton, who had even moved to Perugia to try to help out and testified at trial as to what a super person Knox was… where is she?

On the hapless Bremners, that’s a great catch by James Raper on 07/31/19 at 06:13 AM.

We had heard of the Prague conference and of Sollecito and the Bremners being there, but it took Doug Bremner’s daft blog to fill us in on what was said.

This Doug Bremner, if any reminder is required.

James has opened a huge can of worms with his find and we really need a separate post. Three points for now.

(1) Sollecito NEVER supported Knox’s last alibi in court despite the absurd name “Honor Bound” of his book.

There were dozens of instances of her trying to entice him, and of his stiffing her in response.

(2) Anne Bremner was NEVER Knox’s lawyer, was never appointed and never got paid. ONLY Ted Simon ever filled that role.

She and the equally addled Judge Heavey unilaterally created the inflammatory FOA, which was (a) thoroughly irritating to David Marriott, who pushed her away; and then (b) hijacked by Bruce Fischer’s crazed bunch.

(3) Sollecito was turned down for damages by the Florence Courts and Cassazione because he had repeatedly not told the truth in the days prior to and just after his arrest.

It was not because the courts did not understand, or that he was too chained to a guilty Knox.

With precision, the courts showed that they rightly had him sized up.

Anne Bremner ‘Amanda Knox’ Lawyer’?  As I understand it she only ever helped with copyright issues.

Now, being a copyright lawyer is perfectly fine dandy and commendable.  However, in the grand scheme of all things glamorous - if law could ever be such a thing - a copyright lawyer is way <fx points to the floor> down there, whereas a criminal barrister is <fx points upwards> way up there in turns of visibility and glamour in the Perry Mason stakes.

One day there may be a tv series with high speed car chases involving lowly copyright lawyers (step away from the wheel, Anne, look what happened last time) standing before haughty judges jabbing their fingers and shouting, ‘Objection your Honor!’

In the meantime, lawyers of the most unglamorous of the unglamorous are to be found in a basement office lit by a single bulb and surrounded by dusty files untouched since 1987 dreaming of a book title that conveys themselves as GLAMOROUS, whilst peering at er, copyright law.

Glamorous, OK?

Knox has now ‘exclusively’ sent a letter to ANSA claiming Modena IP only ever paid one quarter of her costs.  She says she spent $10K on private security guards.

But wait, those huge bodyguards in their shiny shoes didn’t really have much to do, with oh, all of five photographers surrounding her car and pestering her.

A lone photographer streaming a video to twitter stood alone in an empty lobby until Knox with her Mom, ‘fiancé <cough> and entourage of ‘private guards’ appeared with Knox looking down as though she was a celebrity.  This lone harmless guy was roughly manhandled by a tall Knox guard and shoved out of the way, when taking pictures in a public place is not at all illegal.

Knox tells ANSA that she had to pay for accommodation for Mom, who had to be there ‘for her traumatic’ experience.

Knox looked calm and serene most of the time, her body language mostly acting the part.  Edda looked far more ‘traumatised’ than her daughter whom she was there to support.

She claims that the pair only married in December last year ‘for tax reasons’.

That’s a new one for the pastor who carried out their ‘religious service’.

Pastor: Do you Amanda Knox take this man to be your lawful wedded husband, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse -

Knox <interrupts>:  - None of those.  Just say, ‘For tax reasons’ and get on with it.  We haven’t got all day.

I don’t believe for a second that Amanda Knox paid $10,000 on security guards.

Hi KrissyG

Re yours above on 08/01/19 at 01:57 PM.

Does Anne Bremner actually claim she was employed, on the copyright side?

Does she present proof? She was edged out of the practice where she had defended cops, after she was nearly disbarred for driving around with 4 flat tires. Maybe a copyright office in the new firm is where she ended up. As you say… hardly a step up.

There is no mention of Anne Bremner (or Doug Bremner)(or Michael Heavey) in Knox’s 2013-15 book. The credits cover several pages. Real knox lawyer Ted Simon is singled out for thanks; and then there is this.

I’m grateful to Robert Barnett, for graciously and securely holding my hand along this new, unfamiliar journey through publishing and the public.
I’m grateful to my publishing house, HarperCollins, for giving me the opportunity to be heard. Tina Andreadis, Jonathan Burnham, Michael Morrison, Claire Wachtel—thank you for believing in me, for supporting me, for your ideas and your care.

My outstanding U.S. legal team, which included Robert Barnett, Heidi Hubbard, and Ana Reyes, at Williams & Connolly, in Washington, D.C., had worked long hours with me to prepare for that possibility and to plan for how to deal with it.

About that DUI

Re Peter Quennell on 08/01/19 at 03:40 PM

Bremner once mentioned she’d succeeded in some copyright action, in a discussion about something that revolved around one of the FOAkers.  Having seen her web page now, I see she’s a bit more than a copyright lawyer (but boy, does she come across like one).  I think she has some kind of medical condition that caused her to appear intoxicated.

Machine, with regard to reporting Knox and Hubby to the fraud squad, in my experience, you have to actually have been a victim of it in order to report it.  At least in the UK.

Someone tried to scam me for an investment and I could find no sign of them on the various regulators sites. I asked the Financial Conduct Authority about them. I had an email back saying beware, these guys are almost certainly scammers and they are not regulated.  I tried to report it on Action Fraud but it wouldn’t let me, as I had not handed any money over.

If anyone out there donated to Knox on the grounds they were too broke to afford a wedding as per their representations, then you should be all right to complain about being conned and ask for your money back.

Hi Krissy,

I need to check with American lawyers. I want Amanda Knox to be charged, convicted and locked up again and I’m going to leave no stone unturned.

I think the time for teeth-grinding may have already passed. It’s been a long haul, to achieve the kind of overview we have at hand, but I am feeling pretty good about developments as of today.

Knox foolishly and dishonestly slammed the media in Modena (subject of the next post), a huge mistake, as it had long been her friend. Now with Piers Morgan and Nick Pisa and Barbie Nadeau in the lead, key elements of the media are starting to take a new look.

If there is an eleventh scam, I’ll be pretty suprised. Expect financial desperation to set in.

Clinical and forensic psychiatrist Richard S Adler from Seattle is following in Peter Gill’s footsteps by using the case to raise his profile.

It seems he has a product to sell i.e. “CBT-X (TM) for PTSD will be available soon”.

He recently attended a conference about Amanda Knox with Anne Bremner in Rome - who also has a product to sell i.e. her book about Amanda Knox - Amanda Knox and Justice in the Age of Judgement.

“Newly returned from Rome, Italy. Presented on a panel organized by media commentator, attorney Anne Bremner. Topic: Update on our 2017 presentation re: Amanda Knox.”

Richard seems to have got his knickers in a twist over Barbie Nadeau’s article about Amanda Knox’s grubby little scam to persuade gullible dupes to make donations for her fairytale wedding.

“Barbie, what do you make of the fact that the media has not uploaded, nor even directly quoted from, the multi-page report issued by Italian authorities yesterday morning?”

He seems to be completely ignorant of the Italian Supreme Court’s damning findings against Amanda Knox i.e. it’s a proven fact she was at the cottage when Meredith was killed and she washed Meredith’s blood off in the small bathroom.

Richard is also trying to undermine the case against the two American men who were arrested on suspicion of murder in Rome.

“A piece by @dannoyes has a journalist in Rome describing Rega and his partner as have been off-duty officers! The official story is showing serious cracks in it. If true, things make much more sense.”

“Where is the video of the fatal stabbing?”

“Dan, who are the lawyers for Gabe Natale now? How typical would such a release be, given the seriousness of the charges and the particular circumstances? What would the likely impact be on public sentiment, especially in light of the lingering shadow of the Amanda Knox case?”

I just watched this vid:

She says the reason for the planned extravagant wedding is because they can then sell the rights to it to a big magazine like ‘People’.

Seattle has two main local newspapers, the Seattle Times and Seattle PI.

Both have carried Andrea Vogt’s fine reports and proved valuable. The Seattle PI also carried Candace Dempsey’s anti-Italy blog, and Seattle Times also carried numerous pro-Knox editorials by Jonathan Martin (did he move on?)

It seems to me we should feel encouraged at the majority skeptical tone of the Seattleite comments under their two wedding reports.

Re The Machine on 08/02/19 at 03:18 AM on Adler. Yeah he does appear to be a nasty piece of work stirring things for profit.

There’s no Rome reporting in Italian or English supporting him though, it is very pro the Carabinieri and pro the murdered officer’s bride of 40 days.

Anne Bremner is in a dwindling minority, will face a hailstorm of hard facts she endemically ignores, and (see my 08/01/19 at 03:40 PM) will have a big problem explaing what her actual role was, if she was NOT a Knox lawyer, and how exactly she broke the case.

The Machine’s comment of 07/31/19 at 07:42 AM was very useful.

If you do a search of the site you’ll see Bremner visited Perugia late in 2008. She hit it off in a really big way with Frank Sforza (screen name Sfarzo) on whom we have had numerous posts; read especially the excellent ones by Ergon.

Sforza was charged in Italy with diffamazione and in Seattle with violence (he fled the US) and may have beaten up his own mother. We’re told that once he started on cocaine he was never the nice guy he once was.

Kermit did a massive series showing how Sforza had twisted the real facts of the case and vastly inflated his own role.

That’s Bremner’s one known local source.

There has been a media blackout concerning any bad news about Amanda Knox in Seattle for years. The media organisations there didn’t report on any stories that portrayed Knox in a negative light e.g. Bongiorno pointing out the mobile phone evidence proved Knox wasn’t at Sollecito’s apartment the entire evening and her relationship with a convicted cocaine dealer. These inconvenient facts were brushed under the carpet. And now they’re silent on Amanda Knox’s grubby little scam to persuade gullible dupes to make donations to fund her fairytale “wedding”.

Candace Dempsey deleted any comments that questioned Amanda Knox’s innocence on her reader’s blog for The Seattle Post-Intelligencer and she got a number of people from PMF and TJMK banned from making comments on its website. This is the type of censorship and propaganda that Pravda was notorious for. There is something very creepy and manipulative about the conduct of the Seattle Times and The Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Their journalists should be able report without fear or favour.

Jonathan Martin once told me he thought Amanda Knox was guilty and Steve Shay called her a “bitch”. They both sang a very different tune in public.

About Seattle…. it’s complicated.

I for one like it a lot; it did not deserve Knox; and we’ve always had many loyal readers and tipsters there

Perhaps mainly because the Seattle end of the case was vastly under-reported, in part as the crime was half a world away.

Had this been a Seattle crime, the Knoxes and Mellases and hangers-on would have been investigated and roasted, and Perugia as a Twin City would not have been questioned.

A main context that all US media operated within and the Seattle media in particular was an endless rain of vicious legal threats, from David Marriott and, in particular, Anne Bremner.

Plus there was a vicious group of Seattleites with Knox’s Catholic school as their common interest: Tom Wright, Timothy Egan, and Peter van Sant. We have several posts on each of them.

We did go up hard against the Seattle Pi and especially Candace Dempsey - only to be astonished when the print version collapsed on us.

We remain grateful to the Seattle Times for the dozens of Andrea Vogt reports we quoted, but not grateful for the trouble-making Jonathan Martin.

And the West Seattle Herald was nuts over Knox until Steve Shay was edged out; then it gave Knox a place to print lie after lie. That seems to be done now.

There was the barking-mad hatefest at a fish resturant called Salty’s.

There was the barking-mad panel at Seattle University.

There was the barking-mad festival to fete Knox on Vashon Island.

That one posted on by Ergon was photographed with everyone raising a middle finger to Dr Mignini. Sforza, Karen Pruett, Bruce Fischer and many other mafia poodles were present, mostly looking grim-faced.

ALL of the above-named now seem pretty paranoiac and defensive.

My guess is the cold and totally self-absorbed Knox they welcomed back was not the warm and fuzzy cherub they long imagined.

Among other things.

It hit me today as I was driving that Knox tore up Raffaele’s life and left his entire family in tatters. We know the law of sowing and reaping is at work. (and God have mercy on us all in this) but Knox tore up one man’s life like a maelstrom of evil and now a crazy man has moved in on her and may destroy her life like she did to Raffaele. Bam! and all the dominoes fall.

Knox tore up a kind young woman’s life, too, that goes without saying. Wouldn’t it be strange if the mad poet Chris Robinson turns out to be Meredith’s avenger?  Maybe Knox has drawn this fellow into her life because Knox loves a lie and refuses to tell the truth, and Robinson doesn’t seem to care what the truth is either; he’s crazy romantic about this bird and all he cares is that she’s infamous. And he’s seeking to be notorious. Bingo.

Posted by Hopeful on 08/02/19 at 04:52 PM | #

@DavidB. Your YouTube link is eye-opener. Knox wants to set up her “wedding” to sell photos to People magazine et al. That’s why she is enraged now that the scam is revealed. It may dry up funds for this Hollywood false production, not a true wedding celebration but a wild Festival like Fasching?

The new revelations of her lying about her marriage to Robinson, lying about “not wanting a cent” after her pleas for money on her wedding website with its clear link to give-me-money registry for massive donations she’s requesting…these lies of hers and obvious moneygrubbing threaten to stifle her big donations. Hidden no longer, the fact she’s squirreling about her need for money, her reasons she’s too broke to throw the bash, and the fact this Feb. thing will not be a WEDDING at all but an after wedding reception or after-party since she’s already legally married—these suddenly revealed truths may cut her income for an over the top Bacchanalia on February 29, 2020, a Leap Year date.

Knox loves thet date, Feb. 29 since it only occurs once every 4 years, hence she won’t have to think about her wedding anniversary or her marriage except for every 4 years, only twice a decade. If she does “celebrate” it, it will have to be on Feb. 28th or March 1st so she can live a lie on both those days, since neither is the correct wedding date. Maybe there’s some other significance to Feb. 29th, no doubt a bad one.

But Knox wants this “wedding reception” hoedown rave very badly, although she calls it an actual wedding (not so, she’s already legally married, done and dusted, the ink is dry on the marriage certificate).

She wants the wild party (for others’ enjoyment of course, she’s selfless) so that she can sell PHOTOS. The whole thing is a money maker, a photo op, a business Enterprise as in Star Trek Enterprise the music of her engagement video.

What if donations from crowd sourcing dry up now that the con is known? Oh no—Weep, sob, this is dire. She won’t be able to make big bucks to buy mom and dad’s respect for her bank account, nor overshadow sister Deanna who may have walked the aisle in a traditional white dress in a real church.

So Knox gets angry on Twitter, pouts and says her Leap Day 2020 wedding will still go forward, blames the media for lies she posted online herself. Says the Feb 20 fling will be “crazy, fun, and bareboned if it needs to be”. (hint, she’s still hoping it can be an extravaganza, that she can still rake in donations despite the $700,000+ house being public knowledge, that she can still go on a honeymoon (oh, puhlease, that’s been done already) and then if you pay big bucks and suggest a honeymoon site she’ll send you a postcard.

The final pout of defeat: she dismisses the whole wedding, says it “doesn’t matter” in the big scheme of things.

That’s for sure, who needs a wedding if the person is already married? Knox has been married a long time, a fact carefully hidden from the wedding website. But wait, the Time Machine makes both truths possible at same time, she’s Schroedinger’s cat. She’s soon to get married “weirdly” as she words it, and seeks donations for a wedding that has already happened. It’s magic.

Knox even after the King County Washington State proof of marriage is online for all to see dated Dec. 7, 2018, even today in 2019 almost 9 months later, in a letter to clarify and correct falsehoods about her money begging website, she still calls Chris Robinson her “fiance”. It’s in the YouTube. A lie from the beginning.

This astral themed coalescence will become a black hole or perhaps be a failure to launch. Knox-Robinson’s wedding plans seem likely to meet the fate of Apollo 1 astronauts Grisson, Chaffee and White. Now those men, I regret the loss of.

I experienced a distinct feeling a deja vu when I read these articles about the killing of Mario Cerciello Rega:

More details, ‘intolerable’ photo emerge after U.S. teens accused in death of Italian officer

‘We are looking forward to the truth coming out!’ Parents of US teen accused of fatally stabbing Italian cop insist ‘the public has an incomplete account of the true version of events’ as their son and his friend remain behind bars in Rome

‘We are very upset by the predicament he’s in, but we are all fully convinced of his innocence,’ Fabrizio said.

Ethan Elder said: ‘It’s a nightmare. After seeing the picture of Gabriel [Natale-Hjorth] blindfolded and Fin in the hotel room my wife and I feared the worst for our son

Italian Police Mistakes May Help American Teens in Cop Stabbing Case

Missing CCTV tapes, mysterious gaps in time and a slew of mistakes may help alleged American cop killing teens’ case.

Some journalists seem more concerned that one of the suspects was blindfolded than the fact a policeman was brutally stabbed 11 times.

Posted by The Machine on 08/04/19 at 04:14 AM | #

@The Machine about stabbing of policeman Rega as deja-vu of Knox excuses. Oh so true, and so terribly awful. The missing video, the two defendant confusion over which one used the knife, the silly outcry over one being blindfolded in custody when that didn’t hurt him any more than a children’s party game (pin the tail on the donkey), and the false outrage of an American father who knows perfectly well that his sorry son Fin Elder was kicked out of Catholic school for attacking a student who was left with brain damage!

And the Carabinieri undercover cop Mr. Mario Rega was newly married and at the peak of his powers, his life so full of beauty and potential and he was on the side of the law. Now they’re trying to paint him as a dirty cop. His funeral footage showed a massive outpouring of love and respect. He’d only been married a few short weeks when these 2 American drug thugs arrive in Rome to act like fools.

To me the worst character seems to be Fin Elder, but the friend Gabriel whose family has true Italian heritage and connections and who speaks good Italian, has some serious bad judgment to link up with such an obvious troublemaker as Fin for bosom buddy.

I feel so sorry for the murdered young Carabinieri’s family and new wife.I hope Italy will not let the money and PR of fast talking American liars destroy justice for Rega like Marriott and Co. and doctor daddy did for their two troublemaking criminal offspring. Rega looks so wholesome, with so much to offer Italy, a native son? (outward appearance is not the whole truth, of course, but he was so handsome and strong looking and bright and healthy; these are first impressions of him and if true what a loss to his people, to law enforcement, to Italy, to good vs. evil, to his wife.) What a loss.

OT: I enjoyed Vivianna’s? analysis of “Lord Longford” Party Boy Rock Robinson, her explanation of him pulling Knox into role playing as therapy. Explains his frequent outlandish costumes and their false personas flashing around town as if a need to disguise their real selves. This as therapy or healing.

It seems Amanda Knox is guilty of theft by deception:

She got married last year, but clearly misled people into believing she was getting married in 2020 and asked for donations to fund her wedding. I’ve got a screenshot of Knox telling someone on Twitter on 22 July 2019 that she is getting married to Christopher Robinson:

Alissa Jackson was sentenced to three years in prison for theft by deception:

Posted by The Machine on 08/05/19 at 05:04 AM | #

There was political pressure to release A$AP Rocky from prison. CNN has obtained the full text of a letter written by the US Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs Robert C. O’Brien:

Donald Trump and Robert C O’Brien interfering with the legal proceedings involving a US citizen in a foreign country reminds me of the perceptive comments from Marie S a number of years ago:

Really? I trust you also realize that much of the US pro-Knox lobbying is simply excessive patriotism. The ridiculous belief that the US legal system is the only competent and just one in the world, and that no US citizen charged by a foreign court with any crime can possibly be guilty of it, or ever receive a fair trial.

Given the many glaring miscarriages of justice in the US in recent years, one might expect people to be rather more enlightened by now. But alas, no.

The fact that Knox is young and female isn’t to her disadvantage. But to many (most?) Americans, her nationality is even more crucial. Whatever the truth, many US citizens will be incapable of hearing and believing anything other than her side of the story. She’s American. And that’s all that matters.

Donald Trump publicly supported Amanda Knox and made a financial donation towards her defence. Trump didn’t read the official court documents. He thought Knox was innocent because she didn’t seem like a killer.

I wonder if there were any similar threats made to Italy when Amanda Knox was in prison. It might explain why the US Department of State refused to release all their documents about the case.

“I wonder if there were any similar threats made to Italy when Amanda Knox was in prison. It might explain why the US Department of State refused to release all their documents about the case.”

The offer that Marasca and Bruno of the final Supreme Court appeal could not possibly refuse came from the Sollecito forces via his Montreal uncle, now dead.

But yes, it was neck-and-neck, or two-pronged.

The US and Italian political fear was that an extradition fight over returning Knox could make both the US administration (read Obama and maybe soon Hillary Clinton) and Italian administration (read Renzi) losers in the next election fight.

Ironically, both Obama’s preferred successor and Renzi lost anyway, and the pro-Knox Trump won. He may indeed have spread money around (pre-Hellman in 2010).

But then Knox stiffed Trump, by saying she’d not vote for him, leaving him pretty ticked. He for one would probably be happy to deliver Knox back to Italy to face a new trial.

(The President of the Republic of Italy can over-rule the Supreme Court.)
